a. Scotland—good b. Paris— i. Trying to increase dorms but site not flexible and will respond on March 1st ii. Try to increase by 10 iii. Want more rooms but keep quality of program iv. Paris program has an excursion to South of France and the payment deadline is March 15th c. Ireland i. Enrollment cap ii. Good waitlist iii. Kerry trip has been planned and organize d. Madrid i. Numbers down; can take 80 ii. Hoping for 50 e. Berlin i. Very low; 2 years ago had the same situation. Last year had 41. Hoping for at least 20. ii. Barb and Ron have a few in process f. St. Petersburg i. Low at this point ii. Will get tourist visas because they’re less restrictive. iii. Planning optional trip to Latvia in addition to Moscow. Students can now go to Finland. iv. Art classes offered (1) Morning- Art History I and II, and Art Appreciation (2) Afternoon- Watercolor g. London i. Full with 85 ii. Classrooms are booked but there are some complications because of construction but all is good. h. Spain i. 2013 optional excursions to Barcelona, S. Spain, Lisbon ii. The Art faculty member had to drop but the program can still run with 8 faculty members. PD is hopeful that they can get someone to replace the Art prof that is dropping, but she won’t know until the final numbers are in. 3. New Business a. b. Social Media i. All is well, no thoughts given c. Handbook i. Paris, Madrid, St. Petersburg, and Ireland are interested ii. Nadia can design but may need to investigate other places to produce/print iii. Get written/photos together iv. Deadline to have photos and trip specific information to Beverly is on March 15th v. Beverly—call Clements to see their turnaround time d. Margee—Business card i. Used vista 500 cards with info and program names e. PD apps good for 3 years; site directors apply every year f. External Resources i. How to decrease amount of money students have to pay. Luc spoke with someone & issue with grant —who will manage the money ii. Look at service learning if we could add service learning component iii. Luc would like to write the grant g. PR Report i. Strengths (1) Uniform Template for Brochures (2) One website to navigate all programs (3) Web & brochures are very informative (4) Use of facebook groups to create unity for program participants by year (5) Easy and straightforward application process ii. Weaknesses (1) Complicated/messy URLs to individual programs (2) Outdated design & cluttered brochures (3) Some information available to students is outdated (4) Conveying the ease factor of participating in EC programs iii. Opportunities (1) Have student ambassadors for EC on home campuses. Give honors or something so students can use on resume. (2) Outreach through media outlets (social networking, videos, blogs) and include student perspectives (3) Program Search function on website- especially for search by course subject iv. Threats (1) Limited resources to implement marketing strategies (2) Lack of promotion on home campuses (for various reasons) (3) Less interest in type of programming EC offers by students (4) Perception of EC as education tourism v. Have student contest to design logo and give them $100 from common funds (or something) 4. Other Business or Announcements a. March 1: Program Applications Due b. March 8th: First Payment Due c.
