Please see further discussion on the definition of a program/sub-program below. Documents 16-305-308 HHP is asking for these courses to be dropped because these courses are going to be replaced or combined, but cannot drop until the new courses are approved.

4. Announcements a. Assistant Provost – Chanaka Mendis - None b. Academic Planning Council (APC) – Irfan Ul-Haq – This announcement led to further discussion of what different groups are doing to create a definition of a program or sub- program. Faculty Senate has an ad-hoc committee that includes Tera Montgomery, Laura Anderson, Kory Wein, Colleen McCabe and Terry Burns. They’ve been charged with coming up with a clear definition for what constitutes any sort of program less than a major, such as minors, emphases within majors, concentrations, credentialed certificates, and certificates. While there are particular compliance issues involved, there appears to be no common definition or minimum/maximum number of credits. Chanaka Mendis and Karen Stinson said the Graduate Council had a similar working group (that they are both a part of) with a similar charge for graduate programs. c. Assessment Oversight Rep & Dir. Gen Ed/Asses. Coordinator (AOC) – Shane Drefcinski - None d. University International Education Committee (UIEC) – Vacant - None e. Other – Irfan said that we need a better set up for the agenda and documents so that the flow reads better, also that all attachments migrate to the new meeting folder after every review – new business to consent, so that if there is a discussion we are not hunting for the information in past folders or meetings. Tera agreed to see about how she can help in restructuring the information.

5. Adjournment @ 4:45pm

Respectfully submitted, Lisa Roh
