Fromelles and Pozières Commemorative Services Conditions of entry

Strict Conditions of Entry will apply to the 2016 Centenary Commemorations (2016 Commemorations):

1. Entry to the Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Military Cemetery, to attend the Pheasant Wood Headstone Dedication Ceremony and view the Australian National Commemorative service at VC Corner on large screens is only permitted for individuals holding a valid attendance pass issued by the Australian Government, and invited official representatives. 2. Entry to the VC Corner Cemetery and Memorial, Fromelles, to attend the Australian National Commemorative Service at VC Corner is only permitted for invited official representatives. 3. Entry to the Australian 1st division memorial, Pozières, to attend the Australian National Commemorative Service at Pozières is only permitted for individuals holding a valid attendance pass issued by the Australian Government, and invited official representatives. 4. Attendees must comply with the attendance pass Terms and Conditions. 5. Attendees must comply with the directions of Authorised Event Personnel at all times. 6. Attendees will observe and maintain the solemnity and dignity of the commemorations and behave appropriately at all times. 7. Attendees enter the 2016 Commemoration(s) at their own risk. The Australian Government will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense (including any damage to personal property) suffered or incurred by any attendee in connection with the 2016 Commemorations. Under no circumstances will the Australian Government be liable for foreseeable or unforeseeable, or for direct or indirect, loss or damage in any form. 8. Attendees must, on request by Authorised Event Personnel, display proof of identity and their valid attendance pass. 9. Attendees will be subject to security screening and searches when required by Authorised Event Personnel, including prior to entry to the 2016 Commemoration area(s). Any person who refuses to be searched by Authorised Event Personnel or who fails to provide proof of identity or a valid attendance pass on request may be refused admission to, or ejected from, the 2016 Commemoration(s). 10. The following items are prohibited: a. Dangerous or hazardous items b. Advertising or marketing messages c. Large backpacks (Day-packs, eg. Aircraft cabin bag sized are OK) d. Camping equipment (e.g. tents, folding chairs, stretchers, etc) e. Opened bottles of liquid f. Flammable liquids g. Weapons or sharp objects, including umbrellas (a poncho will be issued in the information pack provided) h. Large objects (e.g chairs, musical instruments) i. Hiking poles (Medical aids, such as walkers and walking sticks will be permitted subject to medical need) j. Large flags or banners k. Professional photographic equipment (eg. Large zoom lenses, audio visual or cinematographic devices apart from for accredited media) l. ‘Selfie’ sticks and large camera tripods m.Drones and remote control devices n. Smoking is prohibited within the commemorative site o. Alcohol – Intoxicated persons will be refused entry 11. Any prohibited items will be confiscated and may be destroyed. 12. Smoking at the commemorative services is prohibited. 13. All signage instructions at the 2016 Commemoration(s) must be observed. 14. No animals are permitted to the 2016 Commemoration(s), other than guide dogs for the blind, hearing dogs for the deaf or assistance dogs for disabled attendees. 15. Intoxicated persons will be refused entry to or ejected from the 2016 Commemoration(s). 16. The 2016 Commemoration(s) will be filmed for live and recorded transmission, including internet streaming. Attendees may be filmed or photographed. 17. By entering the Commemoration area(s), attendees consent to their image, likeness or voice being captured or used as part of any recording of the event(s) or for any other purpose in any media and in any context throughout the world in perpetuity, without compensation or attribution. 18. Surveillance equipment may be operated within and surrounding the Commemorations area(s). Attendees consent to information about themselves (including images) being recorded by such equipment and to the disclosure of that information to anyone (including law enforcement bodies or other authorities) to the extent the Australian Government or French authorities deem it necessary to do so. 19. Attendees may be refused entry or removed from the 2016 Commemoration(s) if they: a. Fail to comply with these conditions of entry or requests from Authorised Event Personnel; b. Enter any restricted area without permission to do so; or c. Act in any manner inconsistent with the dignity and solemnity of the commemorations. 20. Authorised Event Personnel includes authorised representatives of the Australian Government, event staff, authorised representatives of the French authorities or the police.
