Moved John T /Julie cd. Reports: Junior Country Week- Mick O,Neill Mick reported on the very successful conduct in the WDCA of Region 7 Junior Country Week. Clubs were congratulated on the way they conducted and catered for games at their venues. With sponsorship and grants a profit of $751 was achieved. No issues arose with umpiring which was a very pleasing aspect. The WDCA had 7 players achieve All Gippsland selection (Black Caps). Under 15 JCW- John Barnes A very successful carnival with 4 wins and a “play-off” for the title against Sale-Maffra on the Friday. Under 14 JCW- David Armour David reported a 2 out of 5 result was ok as they only narrowly lost 3 games. The experience will improve the players. He thanked Derek Burridge for his contribution, coaching the squad. Both reports thanked the team managers and others for their efforts, Sue Geals, David Armour, David Stevenson, Sarah Bush and many others. The three coaches have all done a marvellous job, Jason Batson and John Barnes in the under 15’s and Derek Burridge, Under 14’s. Girls Cricket- Rod Pollock Reported that WDCA girls Laura Croft (Under 18) Beth Serong (Under 14) and Lauren Gooden (under 12) all represented Victoria over the summer. At the State Championships we had Laura, Lauren Tymkin, Matilda & Cassandra Pollock at the Under 18’s, Cassie, Beth Serong, in the Under 16’s and in the Under 14’s Georgia Fisher, Jacklyn Borsato, Lauren Goodwin, Miranda Knight and Kate Symes, who after being named Captain had to pull out after a serious knee injury. The Association was represented by Jake Bargwanna and Sam Russell in the under 16 and Devin Pollock in the 14’s at the Commonwealth Bank State Championships.

Vacancies; Junior Sub-Committee: President, George Burke called for nominations to the Vice-President positions (2). Dave Armour was nominated by Grant/Ian John Barnes was nominated by George/John T Both were elected unopposed. The executive is formed by the President, Secretary, Vice Presidents (2) and executive member Ian Cougle. George also thanked Deb Bargwanna for taking on the team Manager role with the Under 16 GCL team. General Business: JCW Umpire shirts All clubs are asked to return the Umpire shirts used at JCW to Mick O’Niell at Miles Honda in Warragul, so they can be used in our finals series. Region 7 JDC A motion “to put it to the Region 7 JDC making the Under 15 conditions relating to having no second innings the same as the Under16 GCL rules” John B / Dale Cd Semi Final venues The delegates put forward the following grounds as the options available to the Semi-Finalists at the next meeting- Yarragon, Garfield, Jindivick, Drouin Rec, Bellbird Park. Ian raised the prospect of holding the grand finals at the one venue, Yarragon, making it easier to follow both games. The decision will be made at the next meeting. Changes to Venue and Times All clubs must advise either President or Secretary of a desire to alter start times or venue changes prior to starting a match. Warragul and Hallora have changed their under 16 game to Eastern Park. JCW expenditure on our teams Rod reported that fees collected from players and the expenditure was about the same- $4200. David A.; WDCA rep. shirts It was agreed that we adopt the new WDCA design for next season’s JCW. All clubs are encouraged to support Pink Stumps day.

Under 12 games resuming on Wed. 26 th January. If either club has difficulty in having suitable numbers to play, the match will become a one-day fixture on the following Wednesday. Presentation night Junior presentation will precede the Seniors, 6pm at the Downtowner on the 16th March. Facebook/Internet Clubs should advise all members/players that no inappropriate remarks circulated on electronic mediums involving the conduct, or organisation of WDCA Senior or junior matches or its volunteers will be tolerated by the Association, with suspension an available prerogative.
