PUBLIC NOTICE

Oklahoma Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (OPDES) Authorization to Discharge to Waters of the State, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit Re-Application No. OKS000101

Notice is hereby given that the City of Oklahoma City, Public Works Department, 420 West Main 7 th Floor, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73102, a municipality in the state of Oklahoma, has filed on the 14th day of February 2006, an application with the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for a renewal permit to discharge storm water from within the city limits of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. The permitted activity is to operate a MS4 within the corporate city limits of Oklahoma City, and discharge the storm water to the Canadian River, Oklahoma River, Coon Creek, Deep Fork of the Canadian Rivers, Deer Creek, Hefner Lake, Hog Creek, North Canadian River, Overholser Lake, Pecan Creek, Stanley Draper Lake, and Little River, directly and through other smaller creeks and tributaries, within these watersheds. Co-Permittees include:

This is to give notice that the DEQ has prepared a Tier II draft permit, based on the application. In addition to the conditions of the proposed draft permit, the permittee will be required to comply with Oklahoma's Water Quality Standards 2000, as amended, the OPDES Act 27A O.S. 2000 Supp §2-6-201 et seq, and Rules of the DEQ promulgated thereunder. Any person interested in obtaining additional information, reviewing the application and/or draft permit, submitting written comments or objections, relating to the issuance of this proposed permit, or requesting a public meeting on the draft permit should contact:

Persons wishing to file comments and/or request that the DEQ hold a public meeting on the draft permit are required to do so in writing to the DEQ at the above address within 30 days after the date of publication. Requests for a public meeting should include: (1) name and address of the interested person, (2) the application name to which the objection or comment(s) relates, (3) the nature and basis of the interest of the person affected, and (4) a statement of the objection or comment, the basis therefore, and any requested action by the DEQ. A copy of the request must also be sent to the applicant. A formal public meeting may be scheduled if there is a significant degree of public interest. Notice of the date, time, and place of the meeting will be given to all parties of record.

At the end of the comment period, the permit will be considered by the DEQ as drafted, unless a written request for a public meeting is received, or a substantial modification of the proposed permit is made by the DEQ staff based upon comments received.
