Esplanade at Damonte Ranch Homeowners’ Association “Bench” Refuse Containers

Refuse from the Benches is collected by the Esplanade porter service after 8:00 am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. All refuse must be placed inside the Bench before that time and in trash bags designed for that purpose. Please note that, other than the Bench assigned to your home, no other trash receptacle is permitted.

Homeowners/residents are responsible for the periodic cleaning of the Bench assigned to their exclusive use. Please be a good neighbor and do not deposit refuse in another resident’s Bench. Additionally, please be sure that all refuse is placed within the Bench with the lid closed and latched. The Bench lid must be closed to prevent animals from getting into the refuse and to avoid unpleasant odor, especially in warm weather months. “Stacked” bags that prevent the Bench lid from closing will not be collected. Bagged trash, cardboard boxes, discarded personal items, etc. placed outside the Bench is in violation of the Esplanade Community Guidelines and will not be collected.

It is important to note that the Esplanade development plan, approved by the City of Reno, provides for the construction of a building, located on the lot near the Veterans Parkway community entrance, to house and secure a community trash compactor unit. Although the developer has promised this, it has not been constructed to date and is one of the subjects of an ongoing lawsuit against the developer. When constructed, there will be no resident access to the trash compactor building for safety reasons. There will be access to a recycle center which will be adjacent to the trash compactor building.

Residents are also reminded that refuse may not be discarded in any common area including the area adjacent to the temporary refuse bins. Your cooperation is appreciated.
