State Committee Meeting July 16, 2008

Meeting Called to Order 11:00 A.M. by Debby Farrelly (State Committee Chair)

II. Administrative Committee Position Selections were as follows: Administrative Assistant: Erin Carter Communications Rep.: Gina Mueller-Martin Judges Rep.: Diane Grayson Mobility / Score Rep.: Denise Franz Education Rep.: Dan Witenstein Meet Coordinator: Lisa Spini Compulsory Rep.: Paul Kahovec Optional Rep.: Meja Lee Event / PR Coordinator: Amanda Borden

III. Discussion of Arizona Meet Calendar

IV. Discussion of Bids for the Level 4, 5/6, Spring Festival and Optional State Meet Awards went to the following bidders:

Level 4 State Championship: PGA Level 5/6 State Championship: Dynamics Spring Festival: PGA Optional State Championships: Dynamics

(Spring Festival and Optional State Championships have been awarded but may again come up for re-bid if the awarded teams do not accept 2 championship competitions.)

V. The annual General Professional Meeting will take place in conjunction with the Base Score Clinic on Friday Sept. 5th, 2008 at Xtreme Gymnastics. Meeting times will be from 6:00-8:30 P.M.

VI. Changes to the 2008-2009 AZ Rules and Policies include the following:

a. More precise wording that a compulsory athlete must be 6yrs. of age by the day of the competition she is competing in. b. The state will no longer require achievement awards for Level 5 Invitational and State Championship competitions. Meet directors will be responsible for deciding on the use of achievement awards, placement awards, or a combination of both. c. For the compulsory State Championships (Level 4/5/6) the host of the competition will distribute either 50% or (maximum of the TOP 10 ) team awards for the competition. d. Entry Fees for the State Championship Competition will incur the following changes: $70.00 Compulsory Athletes + $7.00 head tax = Total $77.00 per athlete $85.00 Optional Athletes + $7.00 head tax = Total $92.00 per athlete

e. State Championship information will be distributed 6 weeks prior to the competition. Competition entry forms must be received for entry into the State Championship competition 3 weeks prior to the event. Entry deadlines and late fees will be enforced. Unanimous

VII. Next meeting date is set for Tuesday October 7th, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.
