2014 Surface Warfare Officer Definite (3-Year) Recall

The Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) community, designator 1110, is seeking a Selected Reserve (SELRES) Surface Warfare Officer, holding an 1115 designator, to apply for temporary, also termed "Definite", recall to fill SWO 1110 billets. Based on Active Component control grade shortfalls, three FY14 definite recall quotas are targeted for control grade officers. Interested RC SWOs should inform their chain of command of their intent and contact the relevant SWO detailer below at the number or email address listed for further information.

If approved for temporary recall by Commander, Navy Personnel Command (NPC), the reserve officer will be notified and orders written for active duty start date NET 15 May 2014.

Description of the Requirement or Tasks to be performed for billet (1 & 2): Work directly with Saudi Arabian Armed Forces (SAAF) for training and exercises.

Description of the Requirement or Tasks to be performed for billet (3): Non-Security Ministry Advisor

Special Travel Considerations or Conditions for billets (3): OCONUS, Afghanistan, GTCC and passport required. Active duty recall orders will be generated and funded by Naval Personnel Command after the officer has been approved for selection. Volunteer will receive PCS orders to Washington, DC or Tampa, FL (member’s choice) for 45 months. Approx six months training CONUS; approx 12 months deployed Afghanistan or Pakistan; approx 20 months training CONUS; approx 10 months deployed Afghanistan or Pakistan. * Application deadline for both billets is 25 April 2014.

Based on Active Component control grade shortfalls, one FY13 indefinite recall quota is targeted for recall of a control grade officer (LCDR, CDR, CAPT). Interested RC SWOs should inform their chain of command of their intent and contact the relevant SWO detailer below at the number or email address listed for further information.

If approved for indefinite recall by Commander, Navy Personnel Command (NPC), the reserve officers will be notified and orders written for active duty start date NLT 1 September 2014.
