Film Presentations –

Over the course of this semester, each of you will sign up to present a short film clip of your choice. It will be your responsibility to select the film, attain a DVD copy of it, and present a brief 5-10 minute presentation to the class that outlines how that segment represents some theme/aspect of the unit we are studying. Your presentation should be formatted into a typed, hardcopy that answers the questions on the back of this sheet. This typed guide to your presentation must be finished and submitted at least two days before your presentation date. The guide must also be uploaded to turnitin.com under the film presentation assignment.

For example, if you were to sign up for a presentation during our study of “Aliens,” you might opt to show a clip from the film ET-The Extraterrestrial. You would choose what portion of the film best portrays one of the following questions: (1) Are human beings xenophobic? (2) What is the possibility that life exists on other planets? Or (3) How might alien civilizations interact with people on earth? After showing that particular clip, you would then briefly explain its relevance to the topic and question, and maybe take questions from the other students in class.

Each student will be responsible for at least one presentation. Questions for each unit of study:
