CITY OF TOLEDO CITY COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 5, 2016

MAYOR DOBOSH CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER. THE FLAG SALUTE WAS LED BY MICHELLE WHITTEN.

COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Jim Fluckinger, Carol Hill, Glenda Forga, and Guy Spratt. Vacancy.

EMPLOYEES PRESENT: Michelle Whitten, City Clerk; John Brockmueller, Police Chief; and Craig McCown, Public Works.

GUESTS: Kennedi Collins; TownCRier and Greg Morosoff.

CONSENT AGENDA APPROVING CITY COUNCIL MINUTES OF DECEMBER 21, 2015, AND PAYROLL AND CLAIMS IN THE AMOUNT OF $63,338.36. Carol motioned to approve the consent agenda, Jim seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS: Steve Dobosh – Mayor: Steve drew a name for the television giveaway from ToledoTel’s food drive. The winner is Mary Jane Hall.

John Brockmueller – Police Department: The department had 13 calls for service and running smooth.

Craig McCown – Public Works: Everything is good and they are working on vehicle maintenance.

Michelle Whitten– City Clerk: Michelle reported that the open Council position has a few applications and interviews will be conducted next week with a recommendation at the next Council meeting. There is also a Park Board Member position open for inside city resident.

PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: None.

NEW BUSINESS: Amusement Device Permit – Toledo Market Fresh: Guy motioned to approve, Jim seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

Water Leak Reduction – Stafford Bancroft. Carol motioned to approve the water leak reductions, Guy seconded. Glenda had questions about the request and did not feel it was really requesting the reduction, and concerned that it would be ok with future audits. Michelle explained that the auditor’s office does look at these and we have enough background information, and the public works department confirming the repair, there has been no problem. We can make sure the letter is clearer for future requests. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Pro Tem 2015: Mayor Dobosh called for nominations. Carol nominated Glenda, Guy seconded. Steve nominated Guy, Jim seconded. As there were no more nominations it was closed. Glenda and Guy both received two votes. Steve broke the tie by putting names and a hat and drawing Guy. Guy was nominated as Mayor Pro Tem for 2016.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS. None.

OTHER BUSINESS: None.

PUBLIC. Greg Morosoff had questions about comments he saw on social media about a prowler. John said that nothing was turned into him, and he had also heard comments second hand. There were no reports of prowlers in the area.

ADJOURNMENT: Guy made a motion to adjourn, Carol seconded. Meeting was adjourned.
