Castle Project

We are building castles for social studies (Medieval Ages unit). This is a participation grade and may be done with one other student (as long as both equally help). Your buddy can be in a different class. Your student should already know the specifications, but just in case:

-Must be transportable and at least bigger than 2 of my hands please. -Can be made out of anything that doesn't spoil (please NO marshmallows!). Legos, cardboard, Styrofoam, and wood are all good materials. NO computer game printouts! -Can be as simple or as detailed as they want (i.e. display the inside, fill the moat, soldier/knights, siege, dragon, flags, colorful, etc…). *No WATER in the moat please!! -Certain parts must be identified (Portcullis, Keep, Chapel, Gatehouse with drawbridge, Crenellations, Outer Wall, Dungeon Tower, and Murder Holes.) Feel free to add other things like a floating tower or King’s tower, but these are optional.

This will be due: Feb. 8th and Feb. 9th for FULL credit and 13th for LATE credit. I will not take them after that. We will set them out on tables in the sixth grade hall and keep them up for the week. Friday they may take them home. Please do not send them earlier than this because I will not have enough space for them. Any questions please email or send a note with your student.

Thanks, Mrs. Mayer
