Lorraine’s mother is now your mother and she is dispensing the same words to you as Lorraine. She has just told you that you have put on too much weight and that you wear your clothes funny. Write a letter to her telling her how you feel when she says these things to you.

John and Lorraine seem to like pranks. I’m guessing that at one time or another you have pulled a prank or a trick on someone else. You are to write a minimum of 25 words telling about the prank you pulled. If you never pulled a prank, then explain why.

In at least two paragraphs, analyze John’s relationship with his parents. What does Lorraine think is the cause of the problems between them? Do you think Lorraine is right? What other factors might be involved? What might the family do to get along better?

John doesn’t seem to have much fun in his home. There is no spontaneity. When he is with Mr. Pignati he is able to do things he can’t do at home and he is able to have fun. You are to write a minimum of 50 words discussing the adult in your life who you have fun with and what the two of you do to have fun. Analyze why John and Lorraine become friends with Mr. Pignati. What do you think Mr. Pignati adds to their lives?

John and Lorraine tell Mr. Pignati the truth about the phone call. Telling the truth is sometimes hard to do, especially if you might be punished as a result of what you have told. You are to imagine you are John or Lorraine. Instead of telling Mr. Pignati the truth to his face, you are going to confess in a letter. Write a letter to Mr. Pignati telling what you have done and why.

Create chapter titles for any 7 of the 14 chapters. For each one indicate your chapter title and the chapter to which it corresponds.
