General guidance

Leicester Market, a department of Leicester City Council, welcomes applications from individuals and businesses interested in taking occupancy of an exterior unit in the new food hall. If you are interested in taking a unit and becoming a trader within the new development please complete this application form in full, in accordance with the following guidance.

Stall Information

Both stalls are equipped with electricity, hand wash basin and double compartment washing up sink as well as sliding shutter doors. It will be the responsibility of the tenant to clean and clear away any rubbish from the unit at the end of each trading day. Please note that these units do not have extraction, but traders selling hot food will be permitted to trade in front of the stall from a marquee.

We are looking to hire these stalls out on a basis of 6 months license with traders looking to take on the unit for at least 3 days per week, with a view to trading 5 days when it becomes viable. The 3 day price and weekly price are what we will charge initially with a view of increasing the prices over time to reflect the daily rates. We will use periodic reviews to assess the sustainability of rents within these units. Assistance and guidance with completing these forms will be provided if required. This section of the application form is to allow you to provide additional information in support of your application. It is necessary that applicants submit supplemental information, specifically a Business Plan for your venture. The business plan should be a comprehensive analysis of the business and comprise further details than the information above. This should include more detailed information relating to the rationale behind the business start-up (including detailed market analysis and product information) and business operations (including additional financial information and performance management).
