Vice President John Wilhoite  HeelPrint Training Day finished o Union claiming we didn’t show up Executive Secretary Shreya Shah  Met with Alumni Committee  Sent emails out to the secretaries who couldn’t make it to HeelPrint and set up training times with them  Found a booklet from 1982

Executive Treasurer Hollie Fisher  Went to HeelPrint  Halfway done training treasurers who didn’t show up

Internal Affairs Adriana Golindano  All applications for Programming committee in  Waiting for Tunnel applicants

External Affairs Danielle Fisher  Set up a ton of stuff for Marketing Manager  Scheduled 1:1  Exec Board having a meeting with DormitUp and Campus Bellhops

National Communications Coordinator Austin Glock Andrews  Secured the SAACURH 2013 Delegation  Affiliating ourselves with NACURH and SAACURH  SALT Bid  Working on grants for affiliation and delegations  SAACURH delegation first meeting will be Friday at 4

Chief Enhancements Officer Trinh Pham  Bought two vacuums for HJ today  Received large enhancements request from Craige and Parker

President Kendall Nicosia-Rusin  Went to HeelPrint  Met with Michael to discuss a HeelPrint evaluation for Community Governments

Board of Governors Carmichael Jordan Mathews  Had first meeting on Sunday  Went to David’s meeting o Tailgate Saturday with Parker

Cobb Nathan Clark  Went to HeelPrint  Trying to schedule a meeting for this coming Sunday Connor Caitlyn Demetrious  Blood Drive yesterday, about 40 participants  Community Government met Saturday, first official meeting this coming weekend

Craige Taylor Bates  Retreat on Friday  Treasurer meeting with Community Director for budget

Ehringhaus Leah Everist  Retreat after HeelPrint  First meeting on Monday  3 events coming up in the next couple weeks  Partnering with CHISPA for Hispanic Heritage Month

Granville Brantley Tart  HeelPrint Day  Met with Community Director a few times  First meeting on Wednesday  Bingo night on Thursday

Hinton James Spencer Ivey  HJ won roll call on HeelPrint Day  First community government meeting today  Retreat re-scheduled for coming Sunday

Kenan Margaret Humble  Weekly meeting times is Wednesday at 7  Meet & Greet moved to next Wednesday  Blood Drive scheduled for November 13 o Ben & Jerry’s

Manning East Grayson Berger  HeelPrint on Saturday  Bought a crown of recognition for Executive Board  Going over a list of enhancements  Treasurer looking at a swag option for Manning East

Manning West Sarah Lee  Manning Block Party is this Friday  Created an app to find a liasion for Spanish House  Meet & Greet on Sunday

Morrison Ankit Patnaik  Executive Board went on Retreat  Planning a Meet & Greet between now and fall break  Blood Drive scheduled for October 25  First meeting on Thursday night or next Monday night

Odum Village Erica Broughton 

OCLQ David Ribar  Blood Drive in October  First meeting Thursday at 7

OCUQ Kevan Schoonover  First meeting/Retreat on Monday o Went over details for Blood Drive on Nov 4 o Meet & Greet for October 7

Parker David Marsh  Went to HeelPrint  Retreat afterwards  First meeting on Sunday  Discussed Tailgate on Saturday with Carmichael o Also a Meet & Greet  Met with Community Director

Ram Village Benjamin Blue  First meeting/Retreat will be Wednesday  November 28 - Blood Drive  Pancake night and future events  Attended RA meeting this week  Met with Community Director

NRHH  Revise constitution to better reflect what NRHH wants  Trying to get applications for new members in October  October 10 – fundraiser at Ben & Jerry’s

Advisor Report:  Michael Cherry o Met with advisors to talk about SAACURH o Working on evalutation for HeelPrint Training Day Committees and External Appointments

 Housing and Advisory: o Can’t meet during the timings set up for Housing and Advisory o Replacement will probably come from the Ethics Board  Recognition: o Alternate who will be reading OTW’s every week  Alumni: o Tailgate in the works o Will meet tons of RHA Alumni

Grant Requests Program Goal: Expected Attendance: Expected Cost: Amount Requesting from RHA:  Presentation  Questions  Discussion

Old Business  HeelPrint Continuation o Concerns for the Year . Granville’s its own entity and hard to involve people and keep Exec Board engaged  Talk to Lin Ran – for advice from last year . Parker: attendance to events without food  No contact with Living Learning Community yet  Skit for the Chinese Autumn Festival – Chinese House . Manning East: Koury and Horton  Resentment between the two residence halls  Separate events for each residence hall  Hold programs in Horton to get more Koury people to come over  Still trying to bring together two separate residence halls  Program about joining the Honors Program o Make people aware of each other . Carmichael:  Delegation? o Do as little as possible in terms of delegation o Try to split responsibilities between Governor and Lt. Governor o Lt. Governor is in charge of programming . Ehringhaus:  Community Director is meant to advise o How to involve the Community Director without working around them o We are a student led organization . Have a conversation about where you want them to be and what you expect from them . Hinton James:  Most concerns have been addressed . Connor:  Dealing with people that haven’t been accepted to Community Government but are friends with  Check Constitution: can still come to meetings and vote on things . Morrison:  Attendance to events  Expanding Community Government so everyone is not too stressed  Concern with Community Director – really busy, how to involve her further o Tell her your timings, and try to set up meetings outside of her office hours . Ram Village:  Keeping morale up with Community Government  To keep people involved and motivated to do their jobs o Recognition o Teambuilder at meetings o Find a good length of time for your meetings so they aren’t too long – hour cap on meetings o Don’t be afraid to let people go and let others in o Set up agendas to ensure everyone has some time to interact or involve themselves in the conversation o Keep chatter for later or before meetings, stay on task o Reports: forces everybody to say something . Cobb:  Cobb has pretty distinct demographics o Finding a minimum to get more people to come out to events o Free food always works . Craige, Manning West, OCUP, Kenan, OCLQ for next week

New Business  Ben and Jerry’s Presentation o Worked over the summer to bring a strong relationship between RHA and Ben & Jerry’s o Catering Event: Place order, they do all the work o Blood Drives – great place to work with Ben & Jerry’s . Give a pint, get a pint deal o Open to any type of event . $2 a serving o Help you be inclusive . Allergies . Sherberts  C.H.E.A.P. Presentation o October 4-6th: Annual Resolve to Fight Poverty Conference . www.resolveconference.org - $65 for registration  60 student volunteers to help out during the conference  [email protected] . Training ground on addressing hunger, homelessness, and poverty issues . Opportunities and Action Fair . Let your residents know about the conference! . $175 for 4-5 big events for all residences  Not advisable because it’s a high cost/resident  Keep in mind that your residents have to be actively recruited if you partner up with this event . $250 open the conference to everyone in your residence hall . Pre-made posters/flyers to send out to communities  Large Enhancements – Speakers o ResNet approached RHA and asked for money to buy speakers for each community o Large speakers for communities to have outside as well . Want to get speakers for the 12 communities that don’t have them . $7,000 budgeted for speakers . Each community can choose if they want speakers and would use the Large Enhancement fund to purchase it . Ram Village, Kenan, Connor?

Announcements  Manning East: Humans vs. Zombies o Sole remaining survivor on campus o First round of midterms  Granville: Everyone’s invited to come eat at the Agora  Trinh: o Made door decks for everyone  Austin: o SAACURH Delegation: Eleishia Sawyer (NRHH Representative), John Wilhoite, Leah Everist, Spencer Ivey, Grayson Berger, Taylor Bates, and Austin Glock Andrews o Going to D.C. for a conference o People going to SAACURH meet after  Kendall: o Executive Board please stay after o DPS handouts in the bin o Write down programs you’re having tomorrow until next Tuesday o Everyone needs to send a full Community Government Roster . Emails, onyens for cEO’s  Shreya: o Kendall, Trinh, and Hollie stay after  Michael: o Applying for Orientation Leader, etc. applications are out due by October 16th  Kevan: o Going home this weekend to house-sit  Nathan: o Ben Bernanke is stepping down o Alisha Cab is the Athletic Director on Community Government  Benjamin: o Fraternity is having a pageant this Thursday at 7 in the Upendo  Leah: o Invited to E-haus for Ice Cream from Ben & Jerry’s

Adjournment Motion to adjourn from OCLQ and second from Cobb The meeting adjourned at 9:34 PM. The next BOG meeting will be held Tuesday, October 1 at 7:30 PM.
