Introduction to Chinese Law – Spring 2012

In order to register for the spring 2012 two-credit Introduction to Chinese Law Course which includes a March 2012 visit to China (see attached tentative itinerary) as well as a classroom component in Albany prior to the journey, you must complete the attached form and provide a non-refundable $500 deposit. The total cost for the trip is $3,650 based on double occupancy. There is an additional fee if you prefer single occupancy. The course will be filled on a first come, first serve basis with 3Ls registering first beginning at 9am on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in Room 317 of the 2000 Building (Dean Salkin’s office). 2Ls may register for seats not filled beginning at noon at Wednesday, October 5th. There are 31 seats available. You may not register for this course through WebAdvisor.

____Attach a $500 non-refundable deposit (check or credit card information)

____Attach a photocopy of the inside front page (photo page) of your Passport with the expiration date circled. If you do not have a passport, affirm (on the attached form) that you will apply for one as soon as you are notified that you are registered for the course.

___Obtain, at your own expense, a visa-suitable photo, so that the Law School can facilitate a Chinese visa

____Complete all paperwork for travel, including the visa, by deadlines set by Albany Law School

____Pay the full non-refundable balance for trip, spring 2012 tuition and fees, any other outstanding balances by January 3, 2012.

____Sign all required waiver and health forms for the Law School

____Deliver your passport to the designated Albany Law School staff member who will take possession of the passport for the purpose of obtaining a visa for you from the Chinese Embassy no later than January 10, 2012.

____Sign a Code of Conduct for the trip

____Double occupancy is acceptable for the hotel room in China

____Cancellation penalties apply as follows (cancellation penalties are in addition to amounts previously paid for deposit, visa processing and insurance): * Airline cancellation fee

Plus: *Trip cancellation fee: $300 on or after December 8, 2011 until December 28, 2011 $400 on or after December 29, 2011 until January 23, 2012 $500 on or after January 24, 2012 until February 21, 2012 $1,000 on or after February 22, 2012 until March 4, 2012 $2,000 on or after March 5, 2012 until March 6, 2012 100% of the tour price on or after March 7, 2012
