1 BOOKING No boat is booked until a booking form has been completed and returned with a deposit of 25% of total hire fee and confirmed by our official receipt.

2 BALANCE OF HIRE FEE The hirer is responsible for whole of the hire fee and the balance must be paid 21 days before the start of the cruise. Should the hirer cancel the booking we will make every effort to re-let the boat, but if we are unsuccessful the hirer is still responsible for the balance of the hire fee. A charge of 15% of the total hire fee will be charged for re-letting the boat.

3 INSURANCE A refundable deposit of £50.00 will be payable and is to be added to the 25% deposit. When you return from your holiday you will be refunded this deposit by cheque on condition no loss or damage has taken place. Your liability is limited to this, provided that any damage to the boat or its equipment, or other boat structures and waterway, is not proved to be intentional or malicious.

4 HIRER’S PROPERTY We regret that we cannot accept any liability for loss or damage to hirers or passengers, property Baggage, motorcars, etc however caused.

5 REPAIRS Repairs are the responsibility of Bettisfield Boats. We must be notified immediately any repairs are necessary and they must not be put in the hands of others without our authority. The hirer shall be responsible for any costs arising from damage or breakdown caused by the hirers fault or Negligence.

6 RETURN OF BOAT We must insist on the punctual return of the boat in the interest of other hirers. Failure to do so incurs a further fee of £20.00 per hour until the boat is returned.

7 ACCIDENTS The hirer is in complete charge of the boat and at all times is responsible for its safe navigation. In the event of an accident the hirer must notify Bettisfield Boats immediately with full particulars and names and addresses of any witnesses.

8 NAVIGATION AND BYLAWS The hirer may only navigate inland waterways and must observe all bylaws and regulations, Including temporary restrictions, governing the use of the particular canal being navigated. Copies of the relevant regulations may be obtained on application to British Waterways. No Craft may navigate the waterway after sunset or before sunrise. Boats cannot be used on any rivers or ship canals without our prior consent and written confirmation.

9 CLEANLINESS OF BOAT At the end of the holiday the boat must be returned to our base in a clean and tidy condition. If the hirer fails to do so we will be at liberty to retain the full deposit to cover the extra cost Incurred in cleaning the boat. In the interest of others, hirer’s are requested not to smoke whilst Inside the boat.

10 PETS 1 Pet is allowed on our boats at no extra charge, for a second pet there is a fee of £15.00; however we ask that they are on a lead at all times while at our base and kept off any seating and bedding.

11 ARRIVAL TIME Our boats are available on the Friday/Saturday from 2 to 3 pm. If you cannot make this time or need an alternative time please lets us know.
