The committee’s activities include a variety of advisory functions, most of which can be categorized under the following three areas. The agenda contains discussion and action items associated with Policy Development, Implementation and Oversight, and Olmstead Education and Outreach.

1. Welcome and Introductory Remarks

2. Secretary’s Update

3. Implementation and Oversight: Fund Development Members will learn about and discuss federal and private grant awards pursued and those obtained in support of home and community based services by the State, including opportunities for consumer and advocate participation.

4. WORKING LUNCH - Legislative and Regulatory Issues a. Federal Olmstead-Related Matters: Discussion with California’s Washington, D.C. Office Representative, Dave Lucas. b. State Olmstead-Related Matters: Members will discuss state legislation that would advance or impede Olmstead priorities.

5. Implementation Updates and Discussion: California Community Transitions Panel Members engaged in local implementation as well as a representative of the Independent Living Resource Center of Contra Costa will share experiences of early implementation efforts. 6. Oversight: Waiver Discussion a. Department of Health Care Services will report on current home and community based services waiver enrollment and the status of waitlists. b. Members will discuss the In Home Supportive Services waiver conversion to State Plan Option (j). Other waivers due for renewal, amendment or conversion include: Assisted Living Waiver Pilot Project, Multi-Purpose Senior Services Program, and the Intermediate Care Facility for the Developmentally Disabled- Continuous Nursing waiver.
