The quorum met in the Lord's house, and being organized Pres. [Alvah] Beman anointed two Elders. Elder L.[Libbeus] T. Coons presented the case of Elder E.[Ezra] Hayes before the quorum. A bottle of oil was consecrated to the Lord, and meeting dismissed with prayer

Libeus (also Libbeus) Thaddeus COONS (also COON) (1811-1872). Born at Plymouth, Chenanga, NY. Baptized 1832. Participated in march of Zion's Camp 1834. Ordained seventy 1835. Served mission to NY 1835-1836. Resident of Kirtland about 1837-1838. Shareholder in Kirtland Safety Society 1837. Migrated to MO by 1838. Expelled. Helped build Nauvoo. High priest endowed in Nauvoo Temple Dec 1845. Died at Richfield, Sevier, UT.

Benjamin GIFFORD. Participated in march of Zion's Camp 1834. Received blessing at Kirtland 1835. Ordained elder 25 Jan 1836.

Abel OWEN. Ordained elder 8 Aug 1841. Resident of Nauvoo early 1840s.

Isaac PERRY (1807-?). Born at Madison, Madison, NY. Kirtland resident 1836-1838. Received anointing 3 Apr 1837. High priest endowed in Nauvoo Temple Dec 1845.

Stephen PERRY (PERREY). Possibly the Stephen Perry (1805) born at Chester, Windsor, VT. Approved to be ordained elder from office of priest 29 Nov 1837. High priest endowed in Nauvoo Temple Dec 1845. Or the Stephen Perry (1818-1888) born at Middlebury, Genesee, NY and died in Springville, Utah, UT.

William Chadwick PERRY (1812-1893). Native of Madison, Madison, NY. Resident of Kirtland about 1835-1838. Received blessing for working on temple 1835 and elder's license 31 Mar 1836. Ordained seventy 1836. Signed Kirtland Camp Constitution 1838. MO petitioner. Moved to Nauvoo. Served as alternate member of high council. Seventy endowed in Nauvoo Temple Jan 1846. 22 May 1841 Appointed a committee of three viz: Thomas Burdick,

Elder Tho. [Thomas] Burdick was chosen treasurer by a full vote.

David CLOUGH (also CLUFF) (1795-1881). Born at Nottingham, Rockingham Co, NH. Migrated from Durham, New Hampshire to Willoughby, OH about 1831. After residing in that community for several years moved to Kirtland. Received blessing for working on Kirtland Temple 1835, anointing in Lord's House 2 Mar 1836, and elder's license 21 May 1836. Ordained elder 28 Feb 1836. Ordained seventy Dec 1836. Stockholder in Kirtland Safety Society 1837. Resident of Nauvoo 1841-1846. Migrated west with Mormon pioneers. Died at Central, Graham Co, AZ.

March 2nd

This evening the Elders met at the Lord's house: the meeting opened by prayer and a hymn was sung; and president [Alvah] Beman proceeded to anoint the following Elders (viz), Richard Howard Age 53, Daniel S. Miles Age 45, Moses Gardner Age 42, David Clough Age 40, Aaron Smith Jr. Age 38, Phinehas H. Young Age 37, Trouman Jackson Age 34, Wm. Wightman Age 28, Reuben Barton Age 24, and Charles Wightman Age 26. [Six of these brethren were approved on the 24th of February, 1836, and ordained on the 27th and 28th of the same month (see Kirtland Council Minute Book, p. 144 and page [--] of this book).]

28th We met again and being organized, president [Alvah] Beman's health was poor and he gave the meeting into the hands of counselor [Reuben] Hadlock who proceeded and ordained Daniel S. Miles and David Clough Elders and gave them instructions: the meeting dismissed with prayer. ______
