Paynesville Lutheran Church Council Meeting Minutes May 8, 2016

Members Present: Pastor Paul Shumaker, Pastor Adam Butler, President Dave Mutschelknaus, Janell Moburg, Marleen Theel, Lindsey Albright Members Absent: Viola Bengtson, Dave Ampe, Mel Evans

President Dave Mutschelknaus called the May church council meeting to order  Approval of the April council meeting minutes were reviewed and approved as written. m/s/p Pastor Paul Shumaker/Janell Moburg  Approval of the April financial report was reviewed and approved. m/s/p Marleen Theel/Lindsey Albright Staff Reports Oral report from Pastor Paul Shumaker and Pastor Adam Butler were presented and discussed Board Reports:  Trustees: Representative not present – no action items to be discussed as full council  Youth and Family: Representative not present – no action items to be discussed as full council  Deacons: Representative not present – no action items to be discussed as full council  Executive: Representative not present – no action items to be discussed as full council Old Business:  The Capital Improvements Committee is currently prioritizing needs due to budget  A discussion was made to leave the mortgage overage as is until further notice  Our maximum refund was granted and received from Congregational Consulting Services. New Business:  The June Calendar was reviewed and approved.  Pastor Paul and Kari Shumaker will be attending the Stewardship Conference that is held in Tennessee where they will learn new techniques amongst many other items towards stewardship. A motion was made to use funds needed to support the cost of the conference to be taken from undesignated and thrivent choice. m/s/p Dave Mutschelknaus/Marleen Theel  Worship Times in the fall will be changing to support an education time and give every family the opportunity to worship together. The worship times are as follows. 8:30 – 9:30 and 10:30 – 11:30 will be designated for worship and 9:30 – 10:30 will be the education time.  Jean Louis is resigning as co-choir accompanist and director. Please help us with thanking her for her many years of hard work and dedication to her many years of service.  During the summer season Tammy’s hours in office will be adjusted, a motion was made to have both Pastor Paul Shumaker and Pastor Adam Butler discuss and approve her summer hours as they see fit in discussion with Tammy. m/s/p Marleen Theel/Janell Moburg Upcoming Dates:  Prayer Walk – Wednesday May 18th  Synod Assembly – Friday June 10th at 8:15am – Saturday June 11th  Mission Trip – June 12th – 18th Next Meetings:  Board/Executive Boards will meet as determined by each board  Church Council will meet on Sunday June 12th at 10:30 following worship
