Dear Cyclist CONGRATULATIONS - STEVENAGE CIRCULAR CYCLE 15th JUNE

Yes you can cycle fifty miles! Well done for completing Stevenage CTC’s Circular Cycle on Sunday 15 th June. Bit of a grey day as can be seen from the pictures but an enjoyable event.

Here is your validated brevet card and an entry form in time for you to enter our next big event, the 20th Emitremmus Desrever, which will be on Sunday 26th October. Once again there will be an Emit Lite option. Last year there were more than 500 entries so please enter in good time. You can also enter online via www.stevenagectc.org.uk

These events would be impossible without lots of volunteers. I would like to thank the core team of Dan Moore and Luke Peters, and many others including Paul Boielle, Gylyan Boielle, Rosie Borcherds, Tom Borcherds, Alexander Brown, Joanna Brown, Robert Finney, Bill Hayes, Gary Spicer, Elaine Walker, Rory Walker and Tina Walker.

Once again the welcome and enthusiasm from Jamie Drackford and the team at Marriotts Sports Centre was tremendous.

The Lavender Tea Room at Hexton and Vanstone Park Garden at Codicote provided locations for controls. Councillor Simon Speller, a former Mayor of Stevenage came to send everyone on their way then rode the whole event. Stevenage Borough Council and Sport Stevenage helped us with publicity and printing. And, of course, the riders provided the spectacle and much of the fun.

We have had lots of positive feedback. Thank you. If you have any comments they will be welcome and help us prepare for future events.

Apart from our big events Stevenage and North Herts CTC organise more than 220 local rides every year. They include rides every Wednesday evening throughout the year from Old Stevenage, Saturday Starters every weekend from Costello’s Café and a huge variety of Sunday rides. Our Blazing Saddles presentations and Christmas lunch will be on Sunday 14th December. The full programme is on our local website. Come and ride with us again soon.

Yours,

Jim Jim Brown
