2015 RIMS AVID Scholarship Application Procedure for Students

Complete the basic Scholarship America Application first, then follow procedure for additional information for RIMS-AVID Scholarship

1) Type into the URL box: www.rims-avid.dollarsforscholars.org do not use a search engine box!

2) Click on “students & parents” tab

3) Create a profile account here if not previously done or skip to step 4 to login

(a) -New account profiles only-

Complete the basic information requested and click submit. You will receive login information in your personal email)

4) Once you are logged in, complete as much information as you can in the listed categories. Click each category on the left side and fill in the boxes. Note: you do not have to complete all the information in each section at this time before moving to the next section, however, the more information you enter towards 100% completion will qualify you for the most scholarships available. Click save & continue at bottom of page to save your information and advance to the next section.

5) To exit your profile at any time, click “save and go to dashboard”. You may return later to continue your profile whenever you wish.

6) Once you have reached “reference/transcripts” you will need to do the following:

a) Your counselor will need to upload your current transcript. Click “add counselor registrar information” and type in required information. You will need your counselors’ first name, last name, email address and phone number.

b) Click “Save and Request Transcript Information”

c) Do the same for “Add Reference Information”. You will need your references first name, last name, phone number, email address, and their relationship to you.

e) Click “Save and look for Scholarships”

f) Complete the three Custom Eligibility AVID questions

Follow procedure on next page to input additional information required for the RIMS AVID Scholarship.

Procedure for additional information needed for RIMS-AVID scholarship…

1) Look at the “Unsubmitted Applications” bar

2) Look for the box that says “RIMS AVID scholarship-2015”

3) Click on “Essays”-complete custom questions…complete all 7 boxes with requested information. This is where your 500 word or less essay will be written.

4) Click “Save”

5) Click on “References”-complete for required second reference. You will need your second references first name, last name and email address

6) Click “Send”

7) Click on the “My Scholarships” tab on the left often to see which scholarships are available to you at that time.

8) The 4 bottoms tabs provide a lot of current scholarship information. Click on each tab to review pertinent information.

9) Be sure to press the “Submit App” button for all scholarships you wish to apply for. If you do not, your online application will not be transmitted.
