California Department of Education PROJECT CAL-WELL LOGO DESIGN CONTEST Open to California Students in Grades Seven through Twelve

The California Department of Education (CDE) is looking for creative students to participate in the Project Cal-Well Logo Design Contest. Students in seventh through twelfth grade are invited to submit original, student-created logos that capture the goals and vision of Project Cal-Well, a program of the CDE.

The purpose of this contest is to:

1. Raise awareness about mental health and wellness of California’s kindergarten through twelfth grade (K–12) students;

2. Recognize the efforts of Project Cal-Well to address the mental health needs of K–12 students;

3. Reduce stigma associated with mental illness.

Students designing logos must include the name of “Project Cal-Well,” incorporate the color lime green which represents mental health awareness, and creatively embrace one or more Project Cal-Well goals:

 Increasing awareness of student mental health issues;

 Providing training for school staff, parents, and community partners to identify and support students experiencing emotional distress;

 Improving school climate;

 Connecting students to appropriate school or community-based mental health services.

The contest will have three winners: Gold ($500), Silver ($300), and Bronze ($200). Submit an electronic copy of the logo in PDF or JPEG format, along with the Contestant Entry and Release Form to [email protected] by April 30, 2016.
