In this form you are asked for the following: 1. Suggestions for NSTF Discussion Forums in 2018 – themes, speakers and partners 2. Nominations for NSTF Executive Committee Members 3. Nominations for NSTF-South32 Awards Adjudication Panel for 2018

1) Suggestion for topics for 2018 NSTF Discussion Forums The main work of the Forum is to communicate – to promote discussion and debate of issues in science, engineering, technology (SET) and innovation, and in particular to promote interaction with Government around these issues. We cordially invite you to give your input and active involvement in this regardWhat speakers you would like to listen to and interact with, which partners should be included, what audiences should be involved and what follow-up actions should be taken? Please be as specific as possible.

Audiences the NSTF communicates with:  Organisations and individuals interested in SET-related issues  Researchers  Engineers  SET communicators  SET educators  Learners and students  General public  Government ministries  Government departments and officials  Parliamentary portfolio committees  The media

For 2018, we already have the following topics that we have to address: 1. 2018 is part of the International Decade (2014-2024) for Sustainable Energy for All. We want to host a discussion forum on all issues relating to Energy and environmental sustainability, taking a critical approach and engaging with government policy in this regard.

2) NSTF Executive Committee (Exco) members: There are two vacant sector positions on the Exco that you can nominate for as follows:  Higher Education alternate representative  State Owned Enterprises main and alternate representatives

The full list of current Exco members are listed in the 2017 NSTF Annual Report on page 47-48. Appointments will be decided by the Exco, according to suitability and availability of the candidates.

3 3) Adjudication Panel for the 2018 NSTF-South32 Awards: You may submit as many nominations as you wish. Appointments will be decided by the Exco, according to suitability and availability of the candidates. See the list of 2017 adjudicators below. Adjudicators are needed who are qualified in academia, research, engineering, or business, or experienced in SET-related civil society work. Ideally there should be two Adjudicators per sector, to share the work or discuss the nominations together, and stand in for each other if one cannot attend a meeting of the panel. NSTF-South32 Awards nominees are not only assessed on the quality of their research, but also on:  Impact on society  Capacity building  Communication of their field of research  Innovation

You are allowed to nominate past adjudicators. At least one Adjudicator is required for each of the following sectors:
