Archery GB Personal Performance Courses
Please note that to be eligible to attend, you must be a member of Archery GB and actively involved within the sport, shooting regularly for at least 6 months and possess all your own equipment There will be reserved tables in the dining room area for Archery GB PPC candidates Will all candidates please meet for dinner in the dining room at 6.30pm on the Friday. Access to your bedrooms at Lilleshall is from 1.30pm Friday The course starts at 7.30pm on the Friday evening in Sutherland Hall, following dinner served at 6.30pm in the dining room The course finishes at approximately 3pm on the Monday afternoon If any of the candidates are not contacted by the Coaching staff in the dining room, or arrive a little late, they should come to the Sutherland Hall by 7.30pm If any of the candidates arrive after the dining room has closed, they should go straight to Sutherland Hall. If arriving after 9pm, they should meet the Coaching staff and the other course candidates in the Queens Hall bar area. Please let us know in advance if you think there is a possibility you will be late
What to Bring
All your normal Archery Equipment If purchasing new arrows, do not cut them down prior to coming Most of the training will be at close range. If you have any suitable old arrows, please bring them With video recordings, it will be an advantage if ladies have a halter-neck top or a low back swimsuit to wear Notebook and pen, marker pen, archery catalogues Details of any training programs, currently being followed Longbow archers are advised to bring some aluminum arrows as most of the training will be at close distance Suitable casual clothes for daytime wear Comfortable soft soled shoes
Course Content
Recurve, compound and longbow disciplines will all be covered Course content will be a mixture of practical coaching supported by seminars Handouts will be provided as and when required Training will start at 9.00am and continue through to approximately 8.30pm with breaks for meals For “early risers” there is opportunity before breakfast to practice shooting up to 70mtrs. No coaching available All the training will be in Sutherland Hall and at close range There will be opportunity for the candidates to discuss their own personal training programmes All aspects of training are covered including shooting form, equipment, tuning, training schedules, practice, sports physiology and psychology Training will be tailored to accommodate candidates with disabilities or impairments. Lilleshall National Sports Centre
Delegates will be provided with single rooms unless otherwise requested. All the rooms have towels, a television and tea/coffee making facilities. A choice of hot and cold meals will be available and are taken in the sports centre restaurant at the Archery GB reserved tables. If a special diet is required please tell us when booking, and speak to the restaurant staff upon arrival or preferably contact Lilleshall Hall prior to arrival on the course if your diet needs any further explanation. Tea/coffee/soft drinks are available at all times during the day in the training rooms. Although towels are provided in the rooms, it is advisable to bring an extra one. Mobile phone signal is very patchy on-site. The cost of the other facilities on site is available from Lilleshall reception on 01952 603003.

Breakfast 07.30 – 08.30 Morning Break 10.30 – 11.00 Lunch 12.30 – 13.30 Afternoon Break 15.30 – 16.00 Dinner 18.30 – 19.30 (18.00 – 20.00 FRIDAY) Smoking is not permitted in any rooms, buildings or halls.
Directions to Sutherland Hall from Main Reception/Queens Café Bar:
Out of Queens Bar/Café and turn left Through archway, towards two more stone archways- take the left one, nearest the building Down the steps, along the gravel path under the vine tunnel At the end of the tunnel continue over the crossroads and straight down path Sutherland Hall will be seen on the right (brown roof) Continue around the left side of Sutherland Hall to a doorway approximately half way along Any queries, please call at the main reception in Queens café bar
