I am a motivated Human Resources Professional with over thirteen years of experience and recently moved to Ohio. I am submitting my resume and cover letter to be considered for Human Resources position to serve as a business partner with other management disciplines to achieve Human Resources initiatives. My education and work experiences have prepared me to effectively manage Human Resource generalist functions. I would embrace the opportunity to provide Human Resources services as part of the management team.

Throughout my Human Resources career, I have applied my knowledge and abilities to best meet the company’s goals. It’s been my philosophy to listen to the overall objectives of the company and find the most effective way to achieve them while maintaining employee values and confidence.

My experiences stem from a military service background as an Air Traffic Controller remaining calm in a fast pace environment. While earning my graduate degree, I developed and managed a critical Air Force training program incorporating experiential training techniques and participated in the Mentorship Program educating future leaders. My internship was completed as a counselor with the Equal Employment Office and with the Transition Assistance Program where I gained a strong understanding of Title VII laws and employment counseling.

In the last year I have been working as an International Charter flight attendant, which has enabled me to see the world and deliver first rate customer service. I have realized that my passion is still in Human Resources and aspire to find a solid company that I can provide first rate human resources services and grow with the company.

In my most recent Human Resources position, I served as the Vice President of the department. In that capacity, I was responsible for the multiple states in multiple locations. It was my responsibility to work with other disciplines and provide pro active HR guidance and address situations as necessary. I wrote the HR policy manual and managed the implementation throughout the company. I negotiated benefit plans to offer stronger programs while saving the company money and achieving the request of the employees. I served as a key representative in training Managers and Assistant Managers on the essential areas of HR. My position was directly responsible for employee relations issues, advising managers through staffing challenges, coaching and counseling employees, designing employment agreements, compensation and incentive pay plans, performance management, managing recruitment and selection methods, working directly with legal council on HR issues, terminations, managing personnel records for employees at all levels.

Along with the company Human Resources initiatives, I also managed I-9 compliance, Worker’s Compensation, pre-employment background investigations and documentation, drug screens, FMLA, ERISA, OSHA requirements, EEO and 401(k) compliance. I have a strong background to work independently and with other management teams. I possess experience in problem solving and discussing sensitive issues in a professional manner. I recognize the function of my position is to listen to the goals of the company and find a prudent way to establish personnel needs and appropriate application of human resources initiatives.

I hold a B. S. (1996) in Resource Management and a M.S. (1998) in Human Relations; I graduated both Summa Cum Laude. I am a member of the Society of Human Resource Management International and other civic organizations.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you. Due to the amount of international travel, the best way to reach me is via email.

Sincerely,

Christina M. Long CHRISTINA M. LONG 3885 WINTHROP DRIVE BEAVERCREEK, OHIO 45431 (850)240-9897
