Meeting called to order: 6:18 pm

1. Review and Approve May minutes: Motion to Approve: Maryann Hannay Seconded: Karen Bauer

2. Entertainment Book Presentation- Representative, Robert Van Eck. Joined our meeting to give an informative presentation and answer questions regarding the possibility of selling Entertainment Books as a future fundraiser. Our overall goal would be to have an easy sale that maximizes our revenue. Robert explained the upgrades to this program, including card discount, keychain discount cards and apps on cell phones. Entertainment Book is a great family value. Books would become active mid August and are good until the following November, giving 14 months of use. Subject tabled until the fall.

3. PTO Teacher Representative: Mary Ann Ciampoli – Took a poll of the teachers to guage interest in various areas to spend our funds…ipads(4), long distance learning centers(2), and IXL software (6 ) the rest were undecided. Jason will check to see if the requested IXL software meets requirements for the expense to be picked up by district funding. That would leave PTO funds available to pursue additional items. Subject will be tabled until next year so an educated decision can be made. Available funds will continue to increase.

Teachers could use some suggestions on how to alleviate the valuable time being used for parties and classroom gatherings. Subject will need to be re-visited in the fall.

4. Treasurer’s Report: Report available for review. Report show current balances to date.

5. Ideas for use of Savings Account Funds- Enrichment Monies/Previously called Playground Funds: Items discussed during and noted above during discussion with PTO Teacher Representative.

6. Acknowledgements & Recognitions: Many thanks to the below volunteers who chaired these important activities; along with all those who assisted throughout the school year!!! All of our PTO sponsored events have proven to be great success’ thanks to our many parent volunteers. a. Strawberry Festival: Darlene Bleau. b. Transportation Breakfast: Deb Charlebois c. 7. a.) Upcoming Events: a. Grade 5 Spring Concert- June 7th b. 5th Grade Celebration- Tuesday, June 12th c. Faculty/Staff Appreciation Luncheon- June 20 Coordinated by Karen Bauer d. Community Fair – Coordinating chairs needed. b.) 2012-2013Chairs Needed Susan Penn will write a message to go home, thanking all volunteers for this past year, along with descriptions of those chairs currently needed for the upcoming school year. c.) 2012-2013 Board Positions- Slate of Officers Nominations: 1. President: Susan Penn- previously nominated 2. Vice President : Marion Baker- previously nominated 3. Recording Secretary- Maryann Hannay- previously nominated 4. Correspondence Secretary: Carissa Zuniga- previously nominated 5. Treasurer: Sue Clickner nominated by Karen Bauer, and Seconded by Chris Siciliano 6. VOTE motion to adopt the slate – Kathleen Misiaszek. All in favor. No opposed. d.) CESAP Community Garden Project – Additional volunteers are needed to put the dirt into the beds. Weather has been rainy but is looking to improve by the end of the week. Last meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 13 in the CES library. e.) Principal’s Corner: Thank you to the current board members and welcome to the incoming. PTO does some remarkable activities and support for CES.
