Dear Sir/madam our ref FP-EB-HELAA

Wyre Forest Local Plan Review Call for Sites 2014 Do you know of any land or premises that you consider could be suitable for housing, employment, retail, leisure or other commercial uses in the future? If so, Wyre Forest District Council’s Planning Policy Team would like to hear from you.

The District Council is carrying out a ‘call for sites’ as part of the preparation of a new Local Plan. During 2015 the Council is starting work on a review of the Adopted Core Strategy and the opportunity will be taken to merge this document with the Site Allocations and Policies Local Plan and the Kidderminster Central Area Action Plan to form a single District-wide Local Plan which is likely to cover a longer time frame to 2035. The first stage of consultation on an Issues and Options Document is programmed over the summer of 2015.

Recent evidence demonstrates that more homes could potentially be required across the district to meet objectively assessed housing needs. The District Council is therefore asking residents, Members, Parish Councils, agents, developers, landowners and others to send in details of any sites, land or buildings that could have development potential over the next 20 years.

If you wish to suggest a site please complete a Site Suggestion Form with as much information as possible. These are available to download from the Council’s website at www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/planningpolicy. Please submit completed forms by 30th September 2014. Your suggested site cannot be included if you do not send a location map which clearly identifies the site.

This ‘Call for Sites’ will update information already held in existing databases. This means that we require information about all potential development sites – both new and existing. If you have previously submitted a site we request you re-submit your site to ensure we have the fullest, up-to- date information. The Council will assume that existing sites are no longer available if you do not re- submit your site with up-to-date information.

Please use a separate form for each site and complete it as comprehensively as possible.

Suggested sites must be:

 Located within or adjoining an existing town or village

 Large enough to accommodate 5 or more dwellings (normally 0.25ha) or 500m2 of commercial floorspace in Kidderminster or Stourport-on-Severn or more than 1 dwelling in Bewdley and rural villages

 Within the Wyre Forest District boundary

 Should not be of excessive size in relation to the size of the existing settlement

Note: This study looks at land availability only. This does not itself imply those sites will be allocated for development, or that planning applications will be considered favourably. Submitting details of a particular site does not guarantee that the Council will support or allocate the site for development. It will then need to be fully assessed through the Development Plan process and subject to comprehensive Sustainability Appraisal.

Please return all completed site suggestion forms either by email to [email protected] or by post to: Planning Policy Team, Wyre Forest District Council, Wyre Forest House, Finepoint Way, Kidderminster, Worcestershire, DY11 7WF.
