WITHLACOOCHEE RIVER ELECTRIC SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: Applications can be sent starting December 1 through March 6, 2015 Description: Applicants must be a dependent of a cooperative member and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Applications in CRC.

PASCO EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS Deadline: February 1, 2015 Number and amount: Multiple at varying amounts Description: Many local donors support this foundation. There are scholarships for all Types of applicants with various abilities, interests and career plans. The Application is available on-line beginning December 1. WEST PASCO LEGAL SUPPORT ASSOCIATION Deadline: February 1, 2015 Number and amount: One at $1,000 (RHS won this in 2012) Description: This scholarship is for high school seniors interested in a law-related career Including , but not limited to, legal assistant, legal secretary, paralegal or Attorney. Applications are in CRC.

JACKIE ROBINSON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: February 15. 2015 Number and amount: Several @ $24,000 over a four-year period Description: Must be a graduating minority high school senior. Applicant must plan to Attend an accredited and approved four-year institution in the United States. Must demonstrate financial need and community service. BURGER KING MCLAMORE FOUNDATION Deadline: December 15, 2014 Number and amount: Multiple at varying amounts Description: High school seniors must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Apply on line at www.bkmclamorefoundation.org/WhatWeDo/ScholarsProgram.

BAY NEWS 9 WEATHER SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: January 10, 2015 Number and amount: 7 Bay area students, amount not stated Description: Students must have a 3.5 GPA or higher. Students should excel in science. Applications are in CRC.

PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF THE COMMUNITY Deadline: November 4, 2014 Number and amount: Several at $1000 - $5000 and a possible trip to Washington D.C. Description: Students should demonstrate strong community service. Apply on – line at http://spirit.prudential.com. When the application asks for the certifier, please use Mrs. Murphy. THE JAN LA BELLE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Deadline: November 15, 2014 Number and amount: Several @ $15,000 renewable Description: Applicant must have a disability. They must be a Florida resident. ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: December 5, 2014 Number and amount: Multiple state winners @ $1,000 Description: Student must be a United States citizen who demonstrates scholarship, Leadership and financial need. Visit www.elks.org/enf/scholars to download the applications. Completed applications must be returned to Mrs. Anders in the CRC prior to the deadline.

FIRE SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: January 1, 2015 Number and amount: Multiple @ $1,000 - $5,000 Description: Students must write an essay (800 – 1000 words) explaining why free speech and the First Amendment are crucial to higher education and how abuses of these rights harm the college experience. To enter, read the rules, regulations and instructions at www.thefire.org/contests.

2014 JOHN F. KENNEDY PROFILE IN COURAGE ESSAY CONTEST Deadline: January 6, 2014 Number and amount: First place - $10,000. Less amounts for runners-up @ $500 to $1,000. Description: The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation invites high school students to Write an essay on an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who Served during or after 1956. ASIAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER AMERICAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND Deadline: January 9, 2015 Number and amount: Several at $5,000 Description: Student must be of Asian or Pacific Islander ethnicity. Applicants must have a minimum of a 2.7 GPA. They must be planning on attending an accredited college or university in the fall of 2015. Students must also complete the fafsa. TAMPA BAY TIMES CAREER JOURNALISM SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: January 5, 2015 Number and amount: Several at $2,500 Description: Applicants must have demonstrated interest in a media/journalism career. Criteria used to determine scholarship recipients are academic merit, diversity, interest in journalism and financial need. Applications in CRC.

GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: January 14, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. Number and amount: Numerous at full college tuition Description: Applicants must be African American, Asian/Pacific Islander American, Hispanic American or Native American. A minimum 3.3 GPA is required. Students can access the GMS application at www.gmsp.org

ARTS FOR LIFE Deadline: February 2, 2015 Number and amount: 25 at $2,000 Description: This scholarship is for students who excel in the Arts. This includes dance, Drama, visual art, music and creative writing. Applications are in CRC.

THE RIGHT FIT FOUNDATION FOR TAMPA BAY AREA STUDENTS Deadline: April 1, 2015 Number and amount: One at $5000 and six at $1,000 Description: Student must have a weighted 3.0 or higher. To apply go to www.RightFitFoundation.org

BIG SUN SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: June 20,2015 Number and amount: Multiple at $500 Description: All seniors who are participating in a varsity sport during the 2013-2014 School year are eligible for this scholarship.

SUNTRUST OFF TO COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP SWEEPSTAKES Deadline: One winner chosen every two weeks from October 26 until May 10 Number and amount: 15 @ $1000 Description: Eligibility is not based on GPA or financial need. Apply on line at offtocollege.info
