If I had to describe myself in three words it would be adventurous, inquisitive and enthusiastic. I have a rock from every country I've ever visited, so I'm up to about 25. When I was 7, I started a rock collection and that's kind of the reason why I ended up studying geology and became an exploration graduate.

I joined the Shell Graduate Programme, I think, for a few reasons. The first one was it's a world-class company with a growing upstream presence in Australia. The second was the challenging and exciting projects it's involved in, and the third was the investment and emphasis they place on graduates.

What I enjoy the most is the excitement I get from discovering the unknown. Shell's growing upstream presence in Australia is really exciting as an explorer, as is a broader scope for us to look in newer basins in more frontier areas for the next big field for us to develop. In my role in exploration, I use Shell's world-leading technology and software to assess geological and geophysical properties of the subsurface. I'm constantly encouraged to innovate and think outside the box in my assessment of new areas. I've been exposed to numerous aspects of exploration. I regularly liaise with global experts in pore pressure prediction, deep-water well design and geohazards.

At Shell, there's a culture of constant learning, and, as a grad, that translates into formal courses as well as the on-the-job training you do as part of your everyday work. The people I work with in my team are great; they're all natural teachers. 81129 - SRT Files Needed For Video TRANSCRIPT for Shell_Graduates_Nick_V3_Approval_16x9.mp4 There's a variety of different leaders in Shell, and their different leadership styles they exhibit allow you to develop your own leadership style.

In my spare time, I'm quite an active person who likes doing a lot of sports, like rugby, cycling and rock climbing.
