Within the frames of this scientific meeting, a workshop on the Ecdysozoa role in ecosystems: research perspectives” will be organized to facilitate the opinion exchanges on the new methods to study the environmental changes using nematodes and other ecdysozoans.

The symposium will be held at the facilities of the Lobachevsky State University, main university of Nizhni Novgorod, at Volga River.

Symposium topics:  Nematode Communities and Their Role as Efficient Bioindicators of Ecosystem Changes

 Modern Views on Origin and Phylogeny of Nematoda and Molting Pseudocoelomates

 Structure of Nematodes and Molting Pseudocoelomates

 Physiology and Biochemistry of Roundworms and Ecdysozoans

 Host-Parasite Relations, Vectors, Infection Refugia

 Invasive and Quarantine Species

 Control and Management of Nematodes  New Techniques to study Ecdysozoans

The meeting of the members of the Russian Society of Nematologists will be also organized to discuss future of the Russian nematology community.

Participation in the Twelfth RSN Symposium can be done by sending the completed registration form (presented on the last page of this circular) by electronic mail to [email protected] .

Registration fee for the full-participation in the Twelfth RSN Symposium is 11000 RUB (approx. equivalent of 160 USD, and to be paid only in Roubles) and will cover all the common expenditures of the Symposium: printing of abstracts and other materials, correspondence with participants including the express mail for delivery of official invitations (needed for Russian visa application); regular expenditures during sessions (meeting rooms rent, translation, coffee breaks, refreshments); a tourist trip within Nizni Novgorod and the farewell banquet

All the needed information about hotels and entertainment possibilities in Nizhni Novgorod, easy ways to reach this city in the Russian Federation and other helpful sources and sites will be presented on Symposium site https://www.zin.ru/conferences/2017_Ecdysozoa_en/index.html and in the next information letter.

INVITATION AND VISA

For the most countries the official invitation ‘visa invitation’ is needed, to apply for the visa in Russian Federation. It may be tourist visa or academic visa. The most simple is the way to apply for tourist visa. When you book your hotel in Nizhni Novgorod city (after you fill the Registration form and receive the list of the recommended hotels from the OrgCommittee) you may ask the hotel administration to send you the visa invitation via email or fax. The invitation from the hotel and hotel voucher are enough to apply for the visa in the Russian Consulate. If you obligatory need the academic visa invitation, you need to ask the OrgCommitee especially because it needs the complicated bureaucratic procedure with additional expenses from the OrgCommittee. In this case you need first to fill the Registration Form and your Registration Fee has to be already paid via PayPal or via Bank transfer, before you ask for the visa invitation.

The format of presentations All the oral presentations of the main Symposium events are to be presented in English in Microsoft Power Point. Plenary (opening) talks are by the invitation of the Scientific Committee only (time for this type of presentation will be discussed separately with the invited lecturer). A session talk will be 20 min long (normally including 5 min for discussion). We expect that participants will provide the Organizing Committee with the files of Power Point Presentations during the registration, to ensure the safe uploading of files into symposium computers. For the poster presentation a surface of 1 m wide and 1.2 m high will be provided. The preferred format for poster presentations will be available on Symposium website after Jan 1, 2017. The abstracts of talks and presentations are expected from participants before April 20th, 2017. Abstracts of all presented talks and posters will be printed in the Russian Journal of Nematology, 2017, vol. 25, N 2. The style and format of the abstract is presented below. The upper limit of abstract text length is 250 words. Yushin, V.V.1, Claeys M.2 and Houthoofd W.2. MATURE SPERMATOZOA OF BREVIBUCCA SP. (NEMATODA: RHABDITIDA: BREVIBUCCIDAE).
