Couch Courier October 9th- 13th
Hello Families! I hope everyone had a good weekend! Look for Scholastic information and order forms to come home this week!
Language We worked on: Letter focus: Aa /a/ Sight words practiced so far: I, can, the, we retell familiar stories compare and contrast familiar texts both fantasy and informational characteristics of informational texts ask and answer questions about key details
We read: Pouch!, Baby Animals on the Move, The Tortoise and the Hare
Math We practiced: reinforced counting skills concept of “one more” develop understanding of addition and subtraction sort, compare and analyze objects through common attributes
Science Introduced the Five Senses- explored parts of our body that use the five senses. Experienced uses of our five senses- hearing loud and soft, feeling objects and identified vocabulary to describe how they felt, tasted foods and identified vocabulary to describe how they tasted, seeing objects and sorting by common attributes such as size, shape and color.
Social Studies

Reminders Please remind your child not to share food with others in the classroom, at lunch or on the bus. Thank you! Next week: Language: sight words: see letter/ sound focus: Ss /s/, build words using s,m,a, isolate and pronounce the beginning, middle and ending sounds, blend words with /s/ Comprehension: actively engage in reading activities, retell familiar stories, compare and contrast, characteristics of poetry Math: record and analyze sorted materials, examine, compare and describe circles, compose and decompose numbers using a ten frame, explore addition and subtraction, count collections in different arrangements Science: The Five Senses- sense of smell, using all our senses to explore the world Social Studies: being a good citizen, We need rules!
