Donia Allen Mills Smith, age 63, of Jackson, Georgia, died Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Donia Smith was born in Walton County to the late Charles William Allen and Eddie Ruth Harp Allen. She was a lifelong resident of Monticello; in 1998, she and Terry moved to the Jackson side of the lake. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Jackson and loved her church family. For thirty-six years, she was an agency manager for Georgia Farm Bureau for the Butts County and Lamar County area. She loved her job and was dedicated to her work. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a member of the Grandparents’ Club at Piedmont Academy in Monticello .

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eugene “Gene” Mills; and sisters and brother, Dorothy Jean Roberts, Bettie Ann Speer, and Charlie Clenton Allen.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Smith of Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, Gena Mills Smith and Keith Smith of Monticello; sons, “Chip” Smith and Tim Smith of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Mills Smith, Matti Ruth Smith and Ryn Smith of Monticello; brother, Gary Allen of Monticello; and sister, Janette Smith of Buford.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 151 Macedonia Church Road, Jackson, Georgia 30233. Interment will be held in West View Cemetery in Monticello. Rev. Lane Sanders and Rev. Charles Roper will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lamar Boggs, Danny Edmonds, Chuck Smith, Allen Smith, Thomas Speer, and Dick Esco.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Jordan Funeral Home, 264 Hillsboro Street, Monticello, Georgia 31064.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church Building, 151 Macedonia Church Road, Jackson, Georgia 30233; or Piedmont Academy, P. O.
