Session Aim/s (a sentence making clear the broad statement of intent) To compare and contrast behaviour management strategies based on behaviourism and humanism Learning Outcomes (by the end of the session students will be able to): Evaluate a range of classroom management strategies based on the behaviourist approach Have an introductory understanding of Non-Violent Communication (NVC) Have taken part in an NVC role-play To have considered the strengths and weaknesses of such an approach

A strong group – only 8 now left – split between Cert Ed and PGCE –have to balance needs of these two groups – careful splitting for group work – plenty of extension activities for PGCE
