Eastlake High School- Volleyball 2017-2018 Parent Meeting

Parent Expectations Sportsmanship is character displayed through athletic competition, respect, honesty, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.

We believe that interscholastic athletic competition should demonstrate high standards or ethics, sportsmanship and promote the development of good character and other important life skills.

Respect: Treat people with respect and require the same of your child, this includes but not limited to players, fellow parents, coaches, officials and opposing teams.

Disrespectful Conduct: Refrain from disrespectful conduct of any sort including profanity, obscene gestures, offensive remarks of a sexual nature, trash talking, taunting, boastful celebrations, or actions that demean individuals or the sport.

Spectator Expectations: It is important to remember that you are at a contest to support and yell for your team, and to enjoy the skill and competition; not to intimidate or ridicule the other team or its fans, or even the officials. High school athletics is a learning experience for students and mistakes are going to happen. Praise student- athletes in their attempt to improve themselves as students, as athletes and as people.

Playing time: We, the coaches, make decisions based on what we believe is in the best interest of all students participating.

If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to call Coach Farmer (915-730-9089), Coach Veloz (915-820-5565) text, email or set up a meeting with any of the coaching staff. However, please do not approach a coach after a match, take the night and contact us the next day.

Parent Concession: Each parent or family member must sign up to help run concessions for a least two matches. The coaches have come up with a schedule using your daughter’s name to designate which day and time you will be running concessions. If you have any concerns please let us know ahead of time so that we can get someone to switch with your shift. Please see the attached schedule:
