Pool Schedule Pool will open weekends only beginning on Saturday May 28th. The pool is open full time June 18th. The pool will close after Labor Day, September 5th. Pool Hours: Weekdays 12:00–8:00pm. Weekends and Holidays 10:00am– 8:00pm

Pool Guest Fees: $ 15.00/day Non-Residents There are a limited number of non-resident memberships available. The non-resident rates are as follows;

Non-Resident Family $ 1,043 Non-Resident Individual $ 582 Non-Resident Senior Citizen $ 379

Pool Membership Pool membership consists of; Township residents, full-time municipal employees, Board of Education employees and a limited number of Non-Resident members.

Payment Payments may be made by check or money order, made payable to Township of Cedar Grove. There are no refunds after May 27, 2016.

Family Membership Family Membership includes; A family of husband and wife/civil union couple and their unmarried children residing in the same household. Any child in family who is 21 years of age or older must show copy of driver’s license, if they do not reside in that household they must apply for an Individual Membership. Anyone not related but resides at the same address must show proof of residency and apply for an Individual Membership.

Seniors Any person 62 years old and older attained in 2016. To be eligible for a discounted senior citizen rate, applicant must also qualify for PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disability) or Medicaid. You must submit up to date cards for discount.

Senior Non Swim 2 Any person 62 years old and older attained in 2016 who wish to enjoy the pool surroundings without using the pool.

Married Couple/Civil Union Covers two adults with no children

Individuals Individual memberships are available for ages 18 and above.

Guests All visitors MUST pay a guest fee to enter the pool, regardless of bathing or not. Guests 2 years old and younger will not be charged a fee. The fee for 2016 for guests is $15.00. All guests must be accompanied by a pool member 18 years old or older, and must remain with the guest at all times.

Early Bird Swim Early Bird Swim is for Adult Members Only on Mondays through Thursdays starting June 23rd, 7:00-9:00 am.

Badges Different colored badges will be issued to each member. Everyone is expected to display their badge to gain entrance to the pool. Badges can only be picked up or purchased at the Recreation Department. You must have a badge to enter the pool, regardless of paid membership. Anyone transferring badges will lose their membership immediately. Lost badges should be reported to Recreation Dept. A replacement badge will be issued by the Recreation Department for a $20 fee. Please pick up badges prior to pool opening.

Adult Swim Adult Swim is a 20 minute period set aside for swimmers 18 years old and older (at manager’s discretion). For safety reasons, those with infants must remain in the shallow end of pool, south of the rope.

Swim Team This year there will be a participation fee of $40 per child or $80 max per family to join the swim team. Eligibility for swim team; 1) Must be able to swim a lap across the pool without touching the bottom. 2) Must be under 18 yrs. old as of June 1, 2016.

Swim Lessons There are (3) three week courses meeting 4 days a week for 30 minutes. Class sizes are limited and are offered on first come first served basis. Each child will only be allowed to be enrolled in ONE session.

Eligibility for swim lessons; 1) Must be a pool member. 2) Children must be 4 years old by the start of lessons, and be able to stand at the shallow end of pool (3.5 ft. depth) with their heads above the water. See registration sheet attached for more details.

Diapered Children According to N.J.A.C 8:2-5.4, all children in diapers MUST wear plastic pants with snug fitting elastic waist and leg bands when entering pool. Plastic pants will be available for purchase through a Pool Manager.

3 TOWNSHIP OF CEDAR GROVE COMMUNITY POOL RULES AND REGULATIONS 2016

1. The Pool Manager has the right to close the pool at any time due to prevailing light, weather, or any other conditions that would affect the safety of our members

2. Pool Memberships are limited to Township Residents, Full time Municipal Employees, Board of Education employees and a limited number of Non-Residents.

3. Guests $15.00: Guests must be accompanied by a pool member 18 years or older the entire length of their visit. Guests that are two years old and under will not be charged a guest fee. The Pool Manager reserves the right to revoke guest privileges when necessary.

6. No child under the age of 18 years will be allowed to join pool as an Individual. No child under the age of 13 will be permitted to enter the pool unless accompanied by a pool member 18 years of age or older, who shall remain with the child at all times.

7. Adult Swim: During Adult Swims (18 or older), parents holding infants must remain in shallow end of pool, south of rope for safety reasons. Adult Swims will last 20 minutes at manager’s discretion.

8. The Pool Manager will have the authority to suspend any member or guest of their pool privileges who; destroy property/equipment, or violates any of the Rules and Regulations. The Pool Manager shall be responsible for the enforcement of all rules and regulations, and any other situations that might endanger the welfare of those on the premises.

9. The use of the Wading Pool shall be limited to children up to 6 years of age. Children capable of swimming in the adult pool do not belong in the Wading Pool, especially during Adult Swims. Lifeguards are stationed in the area for safety and first aid purposes, and are not expected to provide child care. At no time shall a child be left unattended.

11. Small individual floats are allowed in the Wading Pool only. Toys, rubber balls, inner tubes, snorkels, etc. are permitted in the Wading Pool, but are not allowed in the Adult Pool.

12. Absolutely no reserving Lounge Chairs allowed.

13. Babysitters are not allowed to use members’ badges. Babysitters must have their own badge.

14. Food shall be eaten in the designated Snack Bar area ONLY. Food shall not be eaten on pool deck.

15. Smoking is prohibited in the pool area, bath house, and wading pool enclosure. Courtesy smoking areas are located on the hill adjacent to the Snack Bar and also at the far end of pool grounds.

16. Diving is permitted from diving boards only. No swimming is permitted in the area of the diving board. All dives must be perpendicular from point of takeoff. No jumping in at the shallow end.

17. Parents holding infants MUST remain in the shallow end of pool, south of the rope.

18. Management may close the pool or remove a patron, whenever the safety or health of the membership is endangered and may prohibit any action or conduct which is dangerous, improper, illicit or immoral.

19. No loitering in the vicinity of Lifeguard stands, pool entrance ladders or stairs.

20. Only commercial appropriate swimwear is acceptable. Anyone wearing cut-off shorts will be asked to leave the premises.

21. Lifeguards will give a signal to get out of water if there is an emergency. Anyone not adhering to the signal will be asked to leave premises.

22. Dogs and other pets are prohibited on pool grounds.

23. No wrestling, horseplay, punching, fighting allowed on pool grounds or in pool. No pushing or pulling others into the pool.

24. Running is not permitted in pool area.

25. No loud radios or recording devices are permitted.

26. Alcohol, glass containers and gambling is not permitted in the pool area. Anyone entering pool grounds with cooler must be inspected at front door prior to entering.

27. Spitting, littering and foul language is prohibited.

28. Individuals who disobey pool rules will be benched by Lifeguards/Pool Manager, based on the severity of offense. Written Incident Reports will be kept on file in Guard Office. The Pool Manager has the right to suspend anyone violating rules and regulations.

5 2016 CEDAR GROVE COMMUNITY POOL SWIM PROGRAM REGISTRATION

All pool members-children and adults, who plan to take advantage of the swim lessons, are requested to complete the registration forms on the reverse side.

There will be a deadline established for the lessons; they are being offered on a “first-come first-served basis.” Late registrants create oversize classes which mean less instruction for pupils.

Children are only permitted to be enrolled in ONE session.

PLEASE NOTE: Once schedules are posted at the pool, there will be no class switching or time changes allowed without authorization of Pool Manager on duty. Children must be 4 years of age upon start of lesson and must be able to stand at shallow end of pool (3.5 feet deep) with their heads above water in order to be eligible for lessons.

Please fill out forms correctly, showing: (A) Last name, first name, and age of each registrant on each form. (B) Address and telephone number on each form. (C) Course desired for each registrant. (D) Parents signature on each form.

This summer we will offer three 3-week courses. The courses will run from Session 1 (June 20 – July 7) Session II (July 11 – July 28) Session III (Aug. 1 – Aug. 18). Classes will be held from Monday through Thursday each week. Each class is 30 minutes in length. There will be NO lessons on July 4th.
