PART-TIME BUS OPERATOR STARTING SALARY: $13.87 per hour PLUS DIFFERENTIAL PAY AFTER 7:00 PM

Qualified applicants must be professional, customer oriented individuals who are at least 21 years old with a good driving record, a valid Texas Driver’s License and the ability to qualify for a Class B Commercial Driver’s License. High school education or GED preferred.

MECHANIC STARTING SALARY: $17.25 per hour PLUS DIFFERENTIAL PAY AFTER 7:00 PM

Qualified applicants must have at least three years of full-time verifiable work experience as a mechanic in any field or have a 2- year certificate in automotive technology. Must have a good driving and safety record, a valid Texas Driver’s License and the ability to qualify for a Class B Commercial Driver’s License. Must furnish own hand tools.

FACILITY MAINTENANCE REPAIRPERSON STARTING SALARY: $17.25 per hour PLUS DIFFERENTIAL PAY STARTING AT 3:30 P.M OR 10:30 P.M.

Responsible for maintaining VIA’s facilities, grounds and equipment. Must have at least 3 years of full-time verifiable work experience as a Facility Maintenance Repairperson, have own hand tools, proficient in general construction, electrical, plumbing and HVAC repairs. Must have the ability to obtain a Class B Texas Commercial Driver’s License during our paid training program. The successful candidates will most likely start on an evening or night shift and have days off during the week.

ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN STARTING SALARY: $17.25 per hour PLUS DIFFERENTIAL PAY STARTING AT 2:30 P.M OR 9:30 P.M.

Responsible for diagnosing and repairing electronic components on buses and other vehicles. Must have at least 3 years of full- time verifiable work experience as an Electronic Technician or a 2 year certificate in Electronic Technology - have own hand tools, proficient in reading electronic schematics and wiring diagrams to perform testing, troubleshooting and repairs of electronic components. Must have the ability to obtain a Class B Texas Commercial Driver’s License during our paid training program. The successful candidate will most likely start on an evening or night shift and have days off during the week.

FARE COLLECTION SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR STARTING SALARY: $5,441 per month This position installs, supports, and monitors all fare collection systems as they are implemented for VIA, including fareboxes, ticket vending machines, mobile ticketing, and other system components/applications. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related area and at least three years of relevant experience in Business, Finance or related area or an equivalent combination thereof. Ideally, three years with IT and experience/usage of technical support tools such as Sharepoint, websites, search engines and other technical assistance tools.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER STARTING SALARY: $4,996 per month This position functions as a Quality Manager of bidding and construction documentation developing policies, procedures, and checklists to be used for all construction projects. Bachelors of Science in Engineering from an accredited university and 5 years experience in a responsible construction engineering or management position or an equivalent combination. Project management experience required. Professional Registration in the State of Texas preferred.

INSURANCE SPECIALIST STARTING SALARY: $4,145 per month This position performs duties in connection with general insurance matters. Responsible for all purchased insurance coverage needs. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with preferable coursework in Insurance, Risk Management, Public or Business Administration or related field. At least 2 years current experience in an insurance-related work environment. Must have an adjuster’s license. Additional related education or experience may be used in determining an equivalent combination.

TRANSIT POLICE OFFICER STARTING SALARY: $3,120 per month This position provides transit police service on all VIA owned or controlled property. Must have a high school diploma or GED, 6 months Peace Officer Academy and at least 2 years of law enforcement experience. 2 years military experience and/or 30 college hours or additional related education or experience may be used in determining an equivalent combination. Transit police/security experience preferred. Must have a valid current Texas Peace Officer’s license and be eligible and qualified to be commissioned as a VIA Police Officer, i.e. TCLEOSE.

TRANSIT SECURITY OFFICER STARTING SALARY: $1,878 per month This position provides a safe environment for employees and visitors by patrolling and protecting VIA's assets and property at Headquarters, the Child Development Center, and Park & Ride locations. Must have high school education or GED. At least two years of commissioned security officer experience or other experience in a security related field or military preferred. Additional related education or experience may be used in determining an equivalent combination.

VICE PRESIDENT SAFETY AND TRAINING STARTING SALARY: Commensurate with experience This position directs the activities in the areas of Safety, Security, Emergency Management and Operational Training. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in a field related to Safety, Security, Training and/or Emergency Management or in Business Administration. 12 years’ experience in progressively responsible positions to provide an adequate background in Safety, Security and/or Emergency Management functions; and in the management of training programs for various employee levels or other adult education programs, or an acceptably balanced combination, preferably in a multi-modal mass transit property. Experience may substitute for educational requirements. 3 years’ experience in a senior management position.

PROJECT ENGINEER STARTING SALARY: Commensurate with experience This position handles complex design and construction facilities projects and functions as design engineer on projects requiring a licensed professional engineer. Must have a Bachelors of Science in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. 5 years experience in a responsible engineering or management position or an equivalent combination. Project management experience required. Professional Registration in the State of Texas required as an Engineer.

CLERICAL POOL STARTING SALARY: Based on skills and specific assignment Candidates are considered for temporary and entry level assignments of various duration and throughout all departments. This includes customer service positions such as Information Operator and Paratransit Reservation Agent. Must have good word processing and interpersonal skills.
