Stand Out Swims from Last Month!

★ Congratulations to all the finishers of last month’s “Too Fast to Freeze” and “Brute Squad” virtual competitions! ★ Lydia Jacoby finished 2nd at the TYR Pro Swim Series to world record holder placing her 14th all time for all ages and second in the U.S. this year! ★ Virtual Age Group Champs was a success, with amazing swims from our age-groupers all across the board! ★ Kicking off this month at Senior Champs, several new state records were set: ➔ Nicholas Price (NLSC) swam the 200 LCM in 2:25.87, breaking the 23 year old 17-18 and open state records in that event!

➔ The Stingray Swim Team’s mixed relay team broke the state record in the mixed 200 FR relay (SCY) with a time of 1:30.90 the first night, then proceeded to break the mixed 200 medley relay (SCY) state record by over 6 seconds the second night! ➔ The Stingray Swim Team’s men’s team also broke the open 400 FR relay (LCM) state record with a time of 3:41.67! ➔ The Northern Lights Swim Club’s men’s 400 FR LCM relay team broke the 17-18 state record in that event, in the same heat! What an exciting race! ★ Congratulations to Heidi Billings (SST) on earning her first Summer Junior National Championship cut in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:00.99! ★ Shout out to Avery Hafele (MSST) and Brian Jarupikorn (NLSC) for winning the Senior Champ individual high points awards with their outstanding swims!

Stay Up on This Month Meets and Events:

★ Senior Champs April 3th-May 2nd (long course prelims and short course finals, yay!) ★ Alaska Swimming House of Delegates May 15th @2:00 pm (link and agenda information are on the A laska Swimming Website) The Athlete Committee highly encourages all interested athletes to come and watch and even share their feedback with the board. Make your voices heard and use this time as an opportunity to learn more about athlete governance! Zooms:

★ High school age athlete zoom calls May 9th and 23rd at 7:00 pm (zoom link can be found in our instagram bio and in the athlete corner of the Alaska Swimming website) At these meetings we give updates on current events within Alaska Swimming and USA Swimming and answer any questions you may have as well as just hanging out and getting to know our fellow athletes! 3
