Since 1877, The Fresh Air Fund has unlocked the limitless potential of more than 1.8 million New York City children from low-income communities. Each year, thousands of children experience outdoor summer adventures through visits with volunteer host families along the East Coast and Southern Canada and at The Fund’s five overnight camps in Fishkill, NY. Fresh Air children also participate in year-round leadership and educational enrichment programs.

The Fresh Air Fund is seeking a talented graphic designer to assist the Communications Department’s staff 20 hours a week (3-days/week commitment) for one full year from October 2017-October 2018.

R es pon si b iliti e s: • Assist with organization’s “brand refresh” initiatives & goals (including but not limited to updating existing materials using new brand guidelines, and forming and implementing strategies to promote the organization’s refreshed brand) • Designing new marketing materials as well as updating existing materials (i.e. flyers, posters, brochures, event invitations, etc.) • Creating graphics for social media, emails, website, and video projects • Assisting with cataloging all digital assets and resources using photography management system (including photos, videos, and interviews with Fresh Air children, Fresh Air parents, host families and alumni)

• Updating organization’s current website using Light CMS • Support development of social media content • Support the organization’s upcoming website development project • Assist with administrative tasks

Requirements: • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with an expertise in InDesign and Photoshop • Proficient knowledge of print and digital design • Working knowledge of HTML, WordPress, Light CMS, and experience making website updates • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, to take initiative and follow direction, to problem solve, prioritize, and manage multiple projects concurrently • Demonstrated commitment to The Fresh Air Fund’s mission • Precise attention to detail, excellent time management and communication skills, and ability to work well under pressure • Marketing, communications, and/or social media experience a plus • Strong writing, video editing, and photography skills a plus Details: • Job Type: Contract • Salary: $20/hour • Required education: Bachelor’s • Required experience: 1-2 years (including internships and work-study programs)

The Digital and Design Project Assistant will report primarily to the Communications Coordinator and to the Director of Communications.
