Urban Young Life's

A Memo from the Young Life Vice Presidents of Field Ministries to Trip Leaders May 2011

Below is a copy of our National Multicultural/Urban Young Life Parent and Camper Contract. In order to clearly communicate expectations, we feel it is very important for every kid and parent/guardian from an urban area to sign it. We have found that both kids and parents appreciate our desire to set good boundaries. For those of you who are receiving campership from suburban or Small Town clubs, the language of this contract may be too strong. We want you to have the option to create your own contract, but our hope is that every kid has a clear understanding of what is expected of him or her prior to attending camp. If you have any questions, please contact your Vice President of Field Ministries.

The contract below is for all camps except Windy Gap, SharpTop Cove and Southwind camps during Urban emphasis camps. (Cut along dotted line and copy for campers) ------

MULTICULTURAL/URBAN YOUNG LIFE'S PARENT AND CAMPER CONTRACT We are excited that you will be attending one of Young Life's properties this summer. For many young people, a Young Life summer camp experience is often one of the highlights of their teenage years. In order to ensure your safety and well being, we are asking all camp participants and their parent/guardians to sign the contract below. Failure to live up to this contract may mean you being asked to leave camp and having to travel home at your own expense. The local area will also have its campership reduced.

 I agree to be respectful of all adult authority.

 I agree not to bring any drugs, alcohol or weapons.

 I agree to attend all meetings and activities.

 I agree to stay in my assigned cabin after the final nightly cabin bell.

 I agree not to participate in any activity that may lead up to or include a fight.

 I agree to respect the personal property of other camp participants.

 I agree to treat all members of the opposite sex with respect and dignity.

I agree to the above policies:

______Camper's Signature

______Parent/Guardian's Signature

______Trip Leader’s Signature
