Script asking your favorite candidate to sign the Agreement for Honest Candidates

Hi! I’m ______and I’m calling to ask: would you please sign Writeindependent.org’s Agreement for Honest Candidates?

Basically, it states that you agree not to accept more than $100 from any person or entity once you get into office and that you’ll pass the agreement into law. Are you interested in getting money out of politics with this pledge?

___Yes Thank you so much! We’ll let Writeindependent.org know so you can get a star by your name on their website! Thank you so much! ___No: (reasons)______If your candidate won’t sign the pledge, we will notify your constituents of your decision to accept money and favors from lobbyists once you are in office. Do you still want people to know that’s where you stand? Maybe: We can send you a link to the Agreement, if you’ll just give me an email address.

We’ll also send you a video explaining how the Agreement works. It’s an infomercial that is on air through the local public access station. It will encourage people to vote for pledge signers who have proven that they want to get money out of politics. Thank you!
