Call to Order President Phillips called the meeting to order at 3:32 pm. II. III. Approval of Agenda Information/Action A. April 07, 2006 SGA Agenda Senator R. LeSpade moved to approve the April 7, 2006 Agenda. Senator A. LeSpade seconded. No discussion. Motion passed.

IV. Approval of Minutes Information/Action A. March 17, 2006 SGA Minutes Senator Heise moved to approve the April 7, 2006 Agenda. Senator Rivera seconded. No discussion. Motion passed. V. President’s Report Information/Action Welcome back!! Quick check of which senator brought the agenda, minutes from March 17th and the treasury report. Reminded SGA that the Chancellor will be visiting next week’s meeting and if any of the senator’s wanted to polish any questions for him that Student Advocate Smith was available to help.

VI. Secretary’s Report Information/Action Great job to Senator Gallegos for the March 17th Minutes. She did a great job on last week’s minutes.

VII. Treasurer’s Report Information/Action A. February 2006 Treasury Report Senator Gallegos moved to approve the February 2006 Treasury Report. Senator Flint seconded. Senator Ulrich asked if the money to be transferred into the Winnemucca account to make up for the late withdrawal from last year’s graduation party will still happen. Student Advocate Smith acknowledged that it would. Student Advocate Smith also announced that SGA will have some carry over into next year, but next year’s budget will not reflect it, it will be a safety cushion for the budget. Next year’s budget will be $50,000 compared to this year’s budget of $75,000. The difference being that this year’s budget had a large carry over that was reflected into the budget.

VIII. Student Advocate Report Information/Action A. Friday Follies – Basketball. B. Audit Review – The audit took over a month, but this was the first time in SGA history for a clean audit. The auditor also was very impressed with the SGA senators. They witnessed senators in counting money from the rec room. C. Elections – Election packet is 20 pages long. Applications must be received by April 19, 2006. Open Offices for the this election are:

President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Ely Senators (2) and Battle Mountain Senator (1).

Friday April 21, 2006, will be an important meeting. That will be the day for candidate speeches and the workshop meeting. The voting will take place from April 24 through April 27.

IX. Committee Reports Information/Action A. Ely Report- Secretary Trott – Bowling night was a success. Everybody there wanted to know when the next one would be. May try a Friday night and see if better attendance will be possible. B. Winnemucca Report- Natalie Ulrich - Looking at doing a See’s Candy fundraiser for the graduation party and Mother’s Day. Student Advocate Smith asked if it was a SGA or Winnemucca Campus fundraiser. Senator Ulrich answered it was a SGA fundraiser. Student Advocate Smith asked to speak to the Winnemucca senators after the meeting to discuss it further. C. SOL – Stuffing 1200 Easter Eggs Monday. The child care Easter Egg hunt on the 13th needs help, President Phillips asked for volunteers. D. Community Service – No Report E. Facilities – Ger – Account on Wednesday $92 deposit. Increased Usage of game room has been witnessed now that it is a room rather than part of the hall way or Café X.

XI. New Business A. End of the Year Event Information/Action Senator Cast requests a cap of $3000 for an end of the year event. Senator A. LeSpade moved to approve the cap of $3000 for an end of the year event. Senator Metz seconded. The date was unsure at the time of the meeting. A mechanical bull is being planned for the event. The company renting the mechanical bull will handle the insurance. Motion passed.

B. Ely Community Easter Egg Hunt Information/Action Secretary Trott requests approval of a cap of $75 for the community Easter Egg Hunt. Senator Flint moved to approve the cap of $75 for the community Easter Egg hunt. Senator R LeSpade seconded. No discussion. Motion passed.

C. Ely Campus Easter Egg Hunt Information/Action Secretary Trott requests approval of a cap of $75 for the Ely campus Easter Egg Hunt. Senator Heise moved to approve the cap of $75 for the Ely campus Easter Egg Hunt. Senator Rivera seconded. Secretary Trott explained the difference in the two Easter Egg Hunts. The community hunt is for the children of GBC students and staff and the Campus will be for the students with GBC prizes inside. Student Advocate Smith congratulated Secretary Trott for all of his hard work for the Ely campus. Motion passed.

D. Ely Graduation Party Information/Action Secretary Trott requests approval of a cap of $400 for a graduation party on the Ely Campus. Senator Hassett moved to approve the cap of $400 for the graduation party on the Ely campus. Senator A. LeSpade seconded. Senator Cast asked what it was. Secretary Trott answered it was a party for the Ely graduates that takes place the Sunday after the graduation in Elko. Motion passed

XII. Items Laid on the Table None XIII. Issues and Concern/Public Comment Student Advocate Smith asked Senator Ulrich to wait after the meeting. Senator Flint informed that Mardell, Dr. Kilpatrick’s assistant, came to Rotaract to ask for volunteers for the Annual GBC cleanup. Meet at the Chamber of Commerce on May 20th. Will be from 8am to 5pm, lunch will be included.

Secretary Trott thanked Student Advocate Smith for all of her hard work and excellent job on the audit. The time and effort is greatly appreciated.

Senator Cast moved to adjourn the meeting at 4:07pm. Senator R. LeSpade seconded. Motion passed.
