Severe Weather - Pick Your Project!

Choose the projects you would like to complete!  You must choose 1 project for each of the topics below: 1. Thunderstorms 2. Tornadoes 3. Hurricanes 4. Storm Safety  The focus should be on how thunderstorms, tornadoes and hurricanes are FORMED. You will also need to research storm safety.  You must have 4 different projects types.  The combination of projects must add up to that add up to 16 points.

 Research = 4 points Research a thunderstorm, tornado, or hurricane that has occurred in the past. Create a poster including data from the storm, pictures of the storm and a summary about what occurred.

 Children’s Story = 4 points Write a children’s story about the formation of a thunderstorm, tornado, or hurricane.

 Poem = 4 points Write a poem about the formation of a thunderstorm, tornado, or hurricane.

 Journal = 4 points Keep a severe weather journal for a week. Pick a location experiencing thunderstorms, tornadoes or hurricanes and collect data on 5 variables, then make a poster to display your data.

 Weather Instrument = 4 points Make a weather instrument that could be used to collect severe weather data. Use the instrument to collect weather data and make a data chart to record your measurements for two weeks.

 Storm Safety = 4 points Create a storm safety poster to educate people about safety during a thunderstorm, tornado, or hurricane.

 Crossword Puzzle = 4 points Create a crossword puzzle using 20 weather terms relating to thunderstorms, tornadoes or hurricanes.
