You and if you wish a partner (maximum THREE to a group) will create a multimedia presentation focusing on one of several areas related to:  the Great Depression in the United States  the New Deal  Depression/Rise of Dictators worldwide

Your presentation must focus on one of the following areas (only one person/group per class per area… we will draw out of a hat!!)

Areas of Focus: 1. Migrant Workers 2. Urban America/Children 3. Rural Children 4. Riding the Rails - hobos During the Great Depression 5. The New Deal in Action (CCC, TVA, PWA, etc) 6. New Jersey in the Great Depression/New Deal 7. Collapse of Banking system/Run on Banks 8. African-Americans in the Depression 9. Women in the depression 10. The WPA (Works Progress Administration) – Only this agency 11. Opposition to FDR and the New Deal 12. Germany, Depression and the Rise of Hitler 13. Italy, Depression and the Rise of Mussolini 14. Stalin & Russia in the 1930s 15. Japan and Mil 16. itarism in the 1930s 17. Spain in the 1930s and the rise Franco Requirements for the presentation  Photos/video clips – No less than 20  Music and or interview clips/speech excerpts (From the 1930s)  Maps (suggestion)  Art work (suggestion)  Advertisements (suggestion)  Government Agency Signs (suggestion)  Quotes from average Americans, political leaders, business leaders, union leaders, etc  Charts/Graphs (suggestion)  Political cartoons (suggestion)  Text – Descriptions, titles, dates, credits, etc

Your project will be graded on the following:  Requirements o No less than 20 o Title & Credit slides photos/video o At least 2 quotes related to your area o Music o At least 2 “suggestions”!!!! o Approx. 3 minutes in length

 Historical Accuracy  Effective Use/implementation of Primary Sources & Required items  Creativity & Design: organization, originality, transitions, flow, etc  Overview of your focus area (about 2-3 paragraphs).  Timeline/script of your video – Each frame labeled with location/date of the picture, sources of charts/graphs, artist/date of artwork, agency/date of government sign, artist/date of music, speaker/date of speech, etc.  The final presentation must be submitted either on a DVD, working email file, uploaded to youtube, etc. If it doesn’t work… points will be deducted.
