Class 2 Extracts from our First of the Month Books We have been trying to write a description of a setting. We read a story where Sam was lost in the woods. Do you think our descriptions are effective?

Natasha Smith he was cold and scared. Suddenly an owl hooted. Sam froze for a minute or two. He could hear footsteps coming towards him. Suddenly there was a bright light flash before his very eyes. The tree was just the right height for Sam to climb. Sam heard someone calling him. …..a hot water bottle and a nice cup of tea.

Daisy Staite …pitch black…he could see shadows…. he got colder and colder as he stepped further. The trees were really high for Sam. Sam was warm now. …..darker and darker and darker
