Press Release CeBIT 2014: Microsoft and secunet present secure SINA Tablet based on Surface Pro 2
With SINA, the Surface Pro 2 becomes a highly secure, mobile workstation
[Essen/Hanover, 10 March 2014] At this year's CeBIT, secunet and Microsoft are showing how a reliable, highly secure and ultra- mobile solution can become reality through a combination of security technology "Made in Germany" and a high-performance tablet. The jointly presented SINA Tablet includes the same security mechanisms which are also used with the SINA Workstation Notebook, tried, tested and approved in a high- security environment.
The SINA Tablet is based on the Microsoft Surface Pro 2, which has a powerful Intel Core i5 x86 processor and enables all the applications of a PC on a tablet. It is therefore an ideal platform for the SINA OS, which uses the guest operating system Microsoft Windows 8 for virtualisation. The SINA Tablet brings with it from secunet the verified functions full hard disk encryption, virtualisation, encrypted communication (VPN), IP telephony and secure authentication, turning the device into a highly secure workstation. Microsoft Windows environments, Microsoft applications and SINA components are part of the standard set-up used by many authorities and companies and enable simple integration of the secure SINA Tablet. In daily use, administrators and users benefit in equal measure from the simple management and operation of the devices whilst enjoying a level of security that is unprecedented for this device class. Through the use of Microsoft Windows 8 as the guest operating system reliably protected by SINA, the entire application environment is retained; due to the flexibility of use of the Microsoft Surface 2 as a desktop, notebook and tablet, the user only needs one device. All the data is always protected and the user is provided with an identical view

Press Release of the workstation and applications. In addition to this, the error-prone synchronisation of data and documents between different device classes is redundant. After the SINA Workstation Notebook, the SINA Tablet will be the second highly secure device from secunet to fulfil customer requirements in terms of mobility and high security. As with the other SINA Workstation workplaces approved by the Federal Office for Information Security, it offers all the advantages of multi-level and multi-session functionality and can be easily integrated into existing infrastructures. Furthermore, the system provides specific SINA applications, which enable, for example, secured IP telephony or Microsoft Lync video conferences.
