COMPETITIONS WORLD STAGE EUROGRADE - 2015 (WSE)

Director: Dimitar Todorov Venue: Town of Primorsko, Bulgaria Organizers: Bulgarian Folklore Association EUROGRADE LTD. and EUROGRADE BG EOOD With the support of: Municipality of Primorsko Status: Competitions on the WORLD STAGE EUROGRADE (WSE) are included in the cultural program of the town of Primorsko and in the calendar of the Ministry of Culture. Purpose of the competition (WSE):  By promoting the contemporary and traditional folk arts to preserve the diversity of the main traditional valuables and the identity of various nationalities in order to ensure the preservation and cultivation of all mankind;  To give the chance to a significant number of children and young people to manifest their talents and to contribute for their engagement in constructive creative activities as a preventive measure in the fight against vicious additions (cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, etc.) and aggression;  Exchange of creative information and development of achievements in different dance and musical styles. REGULATION

Participation criteria: The applicants for the WSE competitions should meet the following criteria:  Participants should complete the application form with datails on: their genre, title, session and the period of their performance; age group; creative biography of the group; video-record; color photos and promotional materials; address, telephone, fax and e-mail address for correspondence. Selection will be made by the Art Council as per the following criteria:  Compliance of the application with the terms specified;  Wealth creative biography;  Originality of costumes, dances, songs and orchestra;  Participation in other international events;  Participation in other events and festivals of the Bulgarian Folklore Association and Eurograde Ltd.

Participants who are approved by the Art Council will be notified in writing and within the term fixed in the notice they must pay the participation fee to the below stated bank accounts. Competition nominations: CHOREOGRAPHY Folklore: (authentic, processed and stylized). The number of participants is not restricted. Age groups: Children of up to 12; Juveniles - from 13 to 15;Young people - from 16 to 33; Adults - 33+ years of age. The program must last 15 minutes at maximum. Modern: Age groups: Mini - 5-7; Children - 8-11; Juveniles - 12-15; Seniors - 16-35; Veterans – above 35 years of age. The competition shall be held in four categories: Solo performances; Duets; Chamber groups – up to 7 persons; Formations above 8 persons. In the competition can take part groups delivering their creativity in any of the following dance styles: Street dancing /break dancing, funk styles, hip hop, etc./; Disco dancing; Majorette group /dancing, parade and sports styles/; Modern dancing techniques; Jazz performances; Tap dancing; Typical dancing; Belly dancing; Latin dancing; Dance show programs /fire show, double jointed, acrobatics, etc./ The program must include four dances – by one in each category, with a total duration of 12 minutes. Note: The competition will be not conducted by styles, but the most attractive performance will be sought. VOCAL: (pop, academic, choral singing, folk/folklore, old city songs, etc.). The program of the vocal groups and soloists must include two songs – the first a cappella and the second with a musical accompaniment with a total duration of up to 7 minutes. Note: - Singback only with studio record on CD, USB flash disc or portable hard disc. - Playback performances are not allowed.

In the following competition categories: Solo/Ensemble (duet, trio, quartet, etc.)/Orchestra. The competition program must include 2 compositions with the following duration: Children’s groups of up to 12 years of age – up to 10 minutes; Youth of 13 to 22 years of age – up to 12 minutes; Adults – up to 15 minutes. Note: Performances representing parts of works with higher duration are also allowed. THEATRE GROUPS: Provided that a compositionally completed fragment lasts up to 15 minutes. ACROBATIC AND CIRCUS PERFORMANCES: two performances with duration up to 10 minutes are allowed. MAJORETTE DANCES: The groups will compete only by group choreography. The competition part will be conducted in two directions: Parade /with pompons/ and Dancing /with ribbons or other means/ majorette dances. Each group is entitled to 2 dances in each age group and style. It is not mandatory to take part in both activities. General qualification criteria: 1. Complexity of performance /performance complexity level/; 2. Quality of performance /performance technique/; 3. Vision /costumes, requisite, staging/; 4. Stage conduct /stage conduct, gestures, contact with public, expression/. THEATRE OF COSTUMES (pret-а-porter, evening dresses, children’s fashion, stage costumes, folk/folklore costumes, modern youth fashion). Groups will present their collections in the form of show, consisting of one or more topics of duration up to 15 minutes. They will be not divided into age groups. Qualification criteria: costume design; overhaul composition, originality of director’s decision; style (costume, hair-style, choreography, musical accompaniment); original author’s decision, completion of collection; artistic performance; quality and artistry; complexity of artistic decision. Programs for each group must include an opportunity for individual performance, as well as participation in group performances with duration of 5 to 30 minutes.

ORGANIZATION: The programs for the individual performances and those for the days of competition will be handed to the groups on the day of their arrival. The organizers reserve the right to change the individual programs when necessary after their distribution. Within each WSE competition session will be performed concerts on an outdoor summer stage in the towns of Primorsko and Kiten, as well as on outdoor stages in the area of the municipality. Before the start of the concerts, during each competition day, the groups will march on the main streets of the town of Primorsko. Defiles will be guarded by patrol cars of the Ministry of Interior. The jury, together with its President will be appointed by the organizing committee of the competition session. It will be formed by proven professionals of culture and arts: directors, ballet- masters, choreographs, artists, singers and pedagogues. The jury has the right not to award all prizes; to share the prizes between the participants; to award special prizes and incentives. Establishment of special prizes such as „For the most attractive performance”, „For choreography”, „For the youngest performer”, „For master performance”; „For mass performance”, etc. The jury will select the winners by qualifying them based on a ten-score system by each of the above criteria. The minimum number of scores is 4, and the maximum - 40. The overall performance of the group / soloist will be qualified.

The results of each competition session are valid for the final ranking of the champions for the prize „WSE ABSOLUTE CHAMPION”. In the championship rank list are included all winners of the WSE during the respective year, and in the final ranking will be used also the results of the audience voting given at: www.eurogradebg.com. Voting for the WSE Absolute Champion is opened after the end of the last competition session for the respective year. Participant will be awarded with diplomas: Laureate I, II, III degree and medals that will be bestowed at the closing of each competition session. Video and photo capture of all public performances of the groups. The same will be broadcasted through the World Wide Web on the WSE TV channel. (The organizers reserve the right to make any kind of recording, broadcasting, filming and distribution of materials without paying any rights or benefits). The agenda of each WSE competition session will include: Discotheque „ Neptune Evening”, competitions ”Miss and Mister”, FLASHMOB events. Participants are provided with accommodation and three meals against payment at hotels and holiday homes of category 2, 3 and 4 * in the town of Primorsko. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS Registration fee for the competition program is paid once by each dancer /participant in all competition nominations/. Soloist – 30 € Duet and Trio – 20 € per each participant. Group of 4 to 30 persons – 15 € per each participant. Group of 30 persons and more - 10% discount. Transportation costs to Primorsko and back shall be born by the participants. Transportation costs for the participants during the sessions from Primorsko to the stages in Kiten, shall be born by the organizers. Fees must be paid by bank transfer or in cash upon notification and confirmation for participation from the organizers. Applications without confirmation and payment are considered invalid /canceled/.
