Mann High School, scoring 90 points, and the 39 team captured the 2003 Class AAA Girls’ Track State 40 Championship, taking this title for the second time in three years; 41 and 42

1 [725] 1 1 Whereas, the members of the Dreher team were strong competitors 2 in every event at the State Championship Meet, gaining points in 3 pole vaulting, hurdles, long jump, shot put, and most of the other 4 competitions of the day; and 5 6 Whereas, the members of this exceptional team are Kathryn 7 Baysinger, Lauren Benjamin, Nakia Billie, Sarah Binkley, Lucia 8 Derks, Vanessa Green, Keturah Jackson, Brittney James, Courtney 9 Lemon, Kim McIntee, DeQuena Niles, Amy Pate, Whitney 10 Sparks, Liza Todd, Tolly Todd, Lakesha Tolliver, Katherine 11 Warden, and Ferial Williams; and 12 13 Whereas, the members of the Senate wish these young champions 14 much success in their future endeavors. Now, therefore, 15 16 Be it resolved by the Senate: 17 18 That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, 19 congratulate the Dreher High School “Blue Devils” of Columbia 20 and their coach, Daniel Brooks, on winning the 2003 Class AAA 21 Girls’ Track State Championship and commend them for their hard 22 work, competitive spirit, and dedication throughout their season. 23 24 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 25 the members of the Dreher High School Girls’ Track Team and 26 Coach Daniel Brooks of Columbia. 27 ----XX---- 28
