A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Michelle Saunders, Sara Jean McCarthy, Jessica Hedlund, Ryan Leigh Foss, Jacqueline Ahlers, and Andrea Bakker. WHEREAS, it is with heavy hearts and deep sadness to learn of the premature passing of Michelle Saunders, Sara Jean McCarthy, Jessica Hedlund, Ryan Leigh Foss, Jacqueline Ahlers, and Andrea Bakker, who were students and friends at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio; and WHEREAS, in the aftermath of this tragic accident on I-71 in Boone County, Kentucky, we are reminded of the grief and suffering afflicted upon the families and friends of these young women, how precious they were to their loved ones, and how their loved ones have been denied the opportunity of witnessing them reach their full potential; and WHEREAS, the passing of Michelle Saunders, Sara Jean McCarthy, Jessica Hedlund, Ryan Leigh Foss, Jacqueline Ahlers, and Andrea Bakker has left a void that cannot be filled, and they are mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow and heartfelt sympathy upon the premature passing of Michelle Saunders, Sara Jean McCarthy, Jessica Hedlund, Ryan Leigh Foss, Jacqueline Ahlers, and Andrea Bakker, and commend their loved ones to the solace of the Almighty during these dark and painful times. Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Michelle Saunders, Sara Jean McCarthy, Jessica Hedlund, Ryan Leigh Foss, Jacqueline Ahlers, and Andrea Bakker.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit copies of this Resolution to the parents of Michelle Saunders, Sara Jean McCarthy, Jessica Hedlund, Ryan Leigh Foss, Jacqueline Ahlers, and Andrea Bakker.
