Skyline Eco-Adventures Announces the Date for Their Sixth- Annual “Zip for the Trees” Community Event

MAUI, HAWAII (Oct. 5, 2016) – Skyline Eco-Adventures, Hawaii’s award-winning zipline tour company and operator of the first zipline course in the United States, will hold their 6th Annual “Zip for the Trees” community event and fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at its Skyline Haleakala, Maui location.

The 6th annual event supports Maui children charities and native reforestation on Skyline’s Haleakala, Maui zipline course. Funds are raised by selling $50 zipline tours where guests zipline through towering eucalyptus trees on three exhilarating ziplines, including an Indiana Jones style swinging bridge and Maui’s only pendulum zipline—reaching speeds of more than 45 miles per hour. All proceeds from the event will benefit three local Maui charities: Children’s Justice Center of Maui, Hui Malama Learning Center, and Maui Youth and Family Services. Event goers will also experience live music at the Skyline Haleakala sound stage. Paula Fuga returns for her 3rd year in a row performing her soft Hawaiian sounds. New this year is the addition of the band Malino, an amazing Maui band that performs contemporary Island rhythms. The day’s events also include pony rides and face painting for the Keiki, native Hawaiian tree planting and restoration, food for purchase from Outrigger Pizza, shave ice, and much more.

Skyline employees and volunteers have planted over 5,000 native trees since 2002 and removed invasive species in a large-scale effort to restore the native forest. Volunteers will plant over 300 native trees at this year’s event.

Last year’s event raised over $8,000 for Maui children charities and volunteers worked to restore nearly one acre of native forest land.
