Yearbook Staff Contract

I, ______, am a student at Colonia High School. I am in good academic standing. I am a member of the 2011 Yearbook staff and with my signature below I acknowledge that:

1. I must accept the assignments given to me and complete them before or on the day of their deadlines. I understand that failure to complete my entire assignment by the deadline, including any editing or photo- retakes, will result in a lower grade. If I am unable to complete a deadline because of illness or other excused absence, I will delegate my work to another staff member(s).

2. I understand and accept that in order to meeting my deadlines or a staff deadline I may need to stay after school and/or come on weekends or during school vacations.

3. I agree to help other staff members finish their deadlines if I have completed mine.

4. If I transfer out of the class, I will make sure all assignments given to me at the beginning of the year and any current assignments are delegated to other staff members. I will inform the adviser about all unfinished assignments and work I have delegated before I leave the class.

5. I will be available and willing to help sell yearbooks, advertisements, photos, and/or other fundraising materials during scheduled sales days.

6. I agree to handle all yearbook equipment, including cameras, yearbook computers, printers and other supplies with care and be responsible for replacements or repair if lost or damages while in my possession.

7. I understand that one missed deadline will result in failure of marking period in which it occurs.

Classroom Rules: In order for classroom instruction to run smoothly, the following rules must be followed. Any student in violation of these guidelines will be disciplined accordingly.

1. Show kindness and respect toward everyone at all times. 2. Be in class and seated before the tardy bell rings. 3. No food or drink is allowed; however, you may have water. 4. Raise your hand if you have something to say. Do not talk while others are talking. 5. Keep up with assignment due dates. No late work will be accepted without a valid excuse. Should your absence be excused, it is your responsibility to get missed notes and assignments. Unexcused absences will result in a zero for every missed assignment. 6. Always keep your work area neat and clean. 7. Keep your personal opinions to yourself. Don’t say things about others that you wouldn’t want said about you. 8. Be attentive at all times. Do not involve yourself in that will hinder you from paying attention to what is being taught.
